Scoring differential over +14 again.... the lowly Warriors are at +12.1... bunch of scrubs they are!
The schedule really has been relatively easy. I think its interesting that point differential has historically ended up being a good indicator of the true strength of a team, even better than record. John Hollinger used to tout that quite a bit and it has stuck with the current crop of a NBA followers.
However, it seems like that number can be elevated by two things that don't help that much in the playoffs. A weak schedule and a strong bench. When it comes down to the playoffs, it's just going to be about matchups. Cleveland, GSW, OKC and the Clips are all tough matchups. Having Boban and Simms running up the score on on lowly teams in the regular season helps the point differential but won't mean diddly squat in May and June.
That being said, this is fun to watch on a nightly basis. Tim and Tony are having career lows in minutes and yet this team rolls.

The bench helps from a health and overall team strength perspective. There is no absolute indicator but PD and a strong bench means a team will be better rested going in to the playoffs typically.
Personally I think the fact that the Spurs seem to be getting stronger as the season goes on is the thing that makes me optimistic. They are really running like a machine and are destroying teams without even seeming to have to put out max effort. Duncan only seems to be used enough to keep him in shape.

Yeah, its definitely encouraging. I guess the devil's advocate argument is that these guys won't be ready to play big important minutes in the playoffs if they haven't been doing it all year.
