I think he's saying he's worried about THIS YEAR with Clint as our starting center, and if you watched the game last night, those fears are more than justified.
It is possible that Brooklyn is more desperate than the Rockets and they passed him even though he has glaring issues.CFTXAG10 said:
The intriguing part to me is that he obviously passed the physical in Brooklyn but not in Houston. Yet, we have no clear details saying why he failed said physical. Going to need a short memoir to explain everything that has happened in the D-Mo saga these last few weeks. Becoming rather annoying....
Depends on your expectations for this year. If you want to win the championship then this year's version of Capela won't cut it. If you want to be a mid to top seed entering the playoffs he might be sufficient. Clint still has the entire year to improve and he has been good enough to put us in the 3rd seed in the West.Hickory High said:

True. I feel like there are obviously a ton of things taking place behind the scenes involving this deal. Just hope they resolve it soon so everyone can move on with or without the guy.AG@RICE said:It is possible that Brooklyn is more desperate than the Rockets and they passed him even though he has glaring issues.CFTXAG10 said:

The weirdest part to me was that they basically signed him to a 1 year contract and now they are backing out of that...
Brooklyn has tried to throw money at everybody, they just haven't been successful yet.AG@RICE said:It is possible that Brooklyn is more desperate than the Rockets and they passed him even though he has glaring issues.CFTXAG10 said:

I am ecstatic about the progress he has made so far, but I think Pringles clearly believes Clint needs a bit more seasoning, at least against skilled big men.AG@RICE said:No reason to be worried. Capela is only 22 and probably packed on 20 pounds this summer. I imagine he could do something similar this summer and become an unstoppable force.WES2006AG said:It tells me that Pringles doesn't trust him to guard a offensively skilled big man down the stretch. Not a disaster at this point in Clint's career. He just needs some more skills to go along with all that athleticism.shano0603 said:why?WES2006AG said:Hickory High said:
As bad as Nene got his ass beat in the 2nd half, he had some great old man style stops there at the end.
It's not a good sign that he was playing instead of Capela.
Would love to see this team acquire a rim protector and rebounder.
He needs time, but his development year to year has been impressive. His skill around the basket has been especially impressive this year. Not hard to imagine him being a top five center in 3 years when he is 25 and in the prime of his career.

I'd be worried bring in an established big man if the goal is to develop Capella. He needs to play more and he needs to play against tough opponents.
What decent trade chips are we willing to part with that someone else will want? KJ for sure. After that? Dekker? Montrezl? I like those 2 too much to lose.Hickory High said:AG@RICE said:Depends on your expectations for this year. If you want to win the championship then this year's version of Capela won't cut it. If the team is playing right now is here to stay, I don't see why you wouldn't try to win it all this year. I agree with you on developing Clint, so I'm not saying go out there and trade for a top 5 or top 10 big man. Just off the top of my head, here's some guys I think could help make us serious contenders:
Skal Labessire
Willie Cauley-Stein
Nerlens Noel
Kenneth Faried
Amir Johnson
Andrew Bogut (if he'd restructure his contract)

Bogut would be terrible in Houston. Remember when Shaq and Dwight played for Pringles? They hated it. His team is not right for a slow, lumbering center.
Bogut would never get to the other end of the court in time for the first screen for Harden to be set.Hickory High said:Guitarsoup said:

Shaq and Dwight have way, WAY different personalities and expectations than Bogut. Bogut accepts his role as a screener, enforcer, and passer willingly. That's exactly what we need.

Luv dis. And Coach Pringles.
His postgame interviews are the best and I like to watch them after every game. You can tell he really only wants to answer 2-3 questions and then he always tries to leave on a high note. He nailed it last night.WES2006AG said:Hickory High said:

Lol, Pringles is killing it.

Kind of depends on how your team is built and what you are trying to do with the team.

And it's being rumored that Rudy Gay is being shopped and the rockets are a possibility
When any good player is being shopped, you better believe Morey is going to test the waters... I'm not sure Gay really fits what we do. And what package could we put together? Brewer, Mcdaniels, and Ennis.. Plus draft picks? I doubt they would do that.mAgnoliAg said:

Team Winning %: 72.0%
B 2004-05 MVP Steve Nash
Standard: 15.1 ppg, 11.5 apg, 3.3 rpg, 1.0 spg, 3.3 topg
Advanced: 22.0 PER, 60.6% TS%, .203 WS/48

C 2005-06 MVP Steve Nash

Team Winning %: 65.9%
In the past 25 years, only two teams have had a player average over 7.5apg and won the championship and no championship team had a player average over 8.2apg (Kidd in 11). So maybe I don't build around A, B or C.Texaggie7nine said:

OR.... you want more players creating assists. Warriors are killing the league in assists per game with no one averaging over 7.0/game.mAgnoliAg said:Guitarsoup said:In the past 25 years, only two teams have had a player average over 7.5apg and won the championship and no championship team had a player average over 8.2apg (Kidd in 11).
