I think the odds we when the championship without Melo are tiny. I think the odds we win the championship with Melo are slightly less tiny because of the very small chance of Melo's upside. Obviously, Melo is a risk to cause other issues and could ultimately lead us to not meeting expectations. But I'm at the point I don't care if we win 60-65 then lose in the WCF in 5/6 vs win 55-60 and lose in the 2nd round. Hmm let's see just off the top of my head.. A General Manager that's hell bent on a certain player playing for his team and Chris Paul one of Melo's best friends fights for Melo to stay on the team through his drama and bad habits and whining for playing time disrupts the culture of the Rockets organization and sends the team on a 20 game spiral of let's say 8-12 and puts the rockets in a position to have to fight for seeding down the road at the end of the season sacrificing rest for an MVP player and another all star caliber guy who has already injured himself from lack of time management on the court. Idk what do you think?
A team that went 41-3 when its three best players played together will go 8-12 over a twenty game stretch because of ONE player?
