As much as we'd all love to move Demar, another PG isn't helping anything.
At least he'd be able to spread the floor. But be honest though I'd rather have DeMar. Not a big Russell fan.

LMA played terrible all around. Could not make any baskets and could not defend Harrell. Only Demar and White showed up. Should win tomorrow against the warriors.
Rudy also didn't look so hot shooting the ball. I can't figure out Rudy, I feel like I never know what what I'm going to get from that guy.
The real problem was turnovers (18). DeMar had 7 of them. Our players need to learn to never show Kawhi the ball.
We really had an opportunity to build momentum in the first half to take a decent lead. DJ's decision making and carelessness with the ball prevented that though.
Lots of points left on the foul line too.
I do like that we still made it a contest albeit on a back to back for the clips. We've been getting pretty fortunate in our scheduling to begin the season (Portland also was on a back to back). We are probably where we should be right now.

Fox sports didn't show the Spurs for me last night, so I missed it. Turnovers have been a constant for this team this season, but to be fair the clippers are a very good defensive team. Also just looking at the numbers, we seemed to play a pretty good game defensively. Held them to 43% from the field and 19% from 3. Was really hoping to wake up today and see that we handed Kawhi a loss, but onto the next one. Warriors are reeling and we should get back on track.
By all accounts Marco had a great camp and preseason. That's why hes playing. He earned it. We can love Walkers potential all day long but any good coach is going to play the better player 90% of the time.

What gets me with Walker is that you can see the athleticism popping out all over him. He moves different than other players, he glides. And he had some nice plays, especially thinking of when he fought over a screen and rescreen guarding Kawhi when 95% of players would have given up.
But so far it hasn't translated into consistent effectiveness. Or, offensively, any effectiveness. Also his hair is dumb. I want him to be better than he is, and soon.
White needs to be a consistent starter. He makes good things happen.

It's not year 3. And he did dominate in summer league. That shows some progress. Keep in mind he had 1 year in college.

It's a small sample size but this Spurs team's rebounding has been excellent this year. They are #1 in rebounds per game compared to #21 last year. I think Lyles (and DJ) is a big reason for that. If he can have a respectable jumper from the outside, it could be the signing of the offseason. We will see how good our rebounding really is today against the Lakers.

I agree on the rebounding being a huge improvement so far. Lyles is all over the place. I can see why Pop likes him. A guy who doesnt need to score to help is the sneaky foundation of many great Spurs teams. Unfortunately, we know that can be a problem in the playoffs if Lyles cant find some reliable offensive game. I haven't seen him make a jumper yet this year.

Snoop just jumped on the halftime show with Matt and Bill. Didn't seem planned, it seemed like he was just walking by.
Also the Spurs still need a point guard.
Lakers completely picking us apart on offense and locking us up pretty good.

Yeah hard to score in the paint when you have Davis and Howard in there and also Lebron in there from time to time.

Sucked that White left the game but he came back eventually. Murray played good in his absence but can't wait until they can fully played together on the court. Both can create their own shots and play defense.
Spurs starters missed a lot of good shots in the first half. The bench helped out and came through. Just too much size for the Lakers hurt the spurs. LMA seems to never play good with size and Demar was quiet this game.

Caldwell-Pope making those 2 straight shots late in the game hurt and Dwight came out of nowhere this game. I think we can expect Dwight to cause a riff or something with the lakers this season right?
I was coming in from the deer blind, so I only got to see the 4th quarter, but I'll be optimistic and say that we defended Lebron and AD really well. Held those two to a combined 46 points on 43 shots. Anybody in the league would take that and feel pretty good. We just didn't make shots. As mentioned, the lakers are a really good defensive team, but we also hurt ourselves with some really dumb turnovers.
Dejounte was a stud that 4th quarter. He's still got some learning to do with some of his decision making, but man I'm excited about the improvements he's made.

Not sure why I haven't been around this thread yet this season. It's been a busy couple weeks for me since the season opener though. Let's go Spurs!
