That's pretty impressive haha. One night out late drinking and I'm toast for the next 48 hours.

For those that don't attend games....you will often see James wearing a few layers of shirts coming out of the tunnel.

With the ESPN story on his proclivity to not be a stickler for rules and always getting his way, does that drop his desirability from other teams?

Could he be stuck here because no team will be willing to give up the farm to get a player that thinks he's above rules?

Do all the stories make him sound like a great teammate or locker room cancer?

That ain't "shirts", its a FUPA.

He has that build where he carries his fat on his belly and ass & it's probably not aided by excessive drinking and honeybuns.

To me (and I'm not kidding about this) the most impressive thing about him is that he's been able to be an NBA MVP and run up and down the court (well, up and down half the court at least)...and still manages to be built like a former NFL linebacker five years out of the league.

Ah. The notion that professional sports organizations should value lesser and cheaper talents because those kind of players adhere to the team sports virtues as displayed in Disney movies as opposed to all-world/time talents because those players are jerks.

Have we learned nothing from The Last Dance? There's a reason why the Chicago Bulls traded Will Perdue for Dennis Rodman.

They also had a strong coach with skins on the wall and Michael Jordan who would literally kick Rodman's ass if needed.

Also look at how the Clippers fell apart this year.

This isn't an opinion unique only to you. It's literally his best quality as a player. He's the best scorer in the NBA, has a top 5 handle (behind Kyrie, CP3, Jamal Crawford if he's still in the league, who else), and is about as durable as they come because you are 100% correct - he's built like a strong safety.

He's routinely cited as one of the strongest, if not the strongest, pound for pound guards in the NBA.

Sure, but the point remains. Does his "desirability" drop because of all of this? To fans, maybe. Does his value to a team/org drop? Never. He's a top 5 player in the NBA in his prime and short of LeBron, Giannis, KD, Kawhi, maybe Steph, who would the Rockets get back in return for fair value? No one, right?

Another recent example and probably a far more annoying one (from a fan perspective, at least) was Kawhi. Everything that went into his San Antonio exit was well-publicized, but whatever. He won a ring for Toronto the next season and by all accounts, took half of the following season with the Clippers off. I'm good with that. I'm surprised that some fans are still naive to the benefits that star athletes get from double standards. If this was Gerald Green doing it, kick him off the team, sure. But James Harden is James Harden.

I think the fact that you can't get anywhere near close in value to him is testimony that his value has dropped. The best offer out there is 26yo Caris LaVert and some protected picks. Maybe Philly will realize that BS/Embiid are a bad fit and offer you Ben Simmons straight up.

Sure doesn't seems like the entire NBA is chomping at the bit to get him. No one wants to give much of value up. And there is absolutely no chance that any teams gives up what the production on the stat sheet says he is worth.

No disagreement about the talent portion of your post, but you're citing him being fat as his most desirable quality?

Him being in better shape and partying less and taking his nutrition and sleep a little more seriously certainly wouldn't cause him to be more injured or less strong.

If he wins a ring he can come snort lines off my belly and I'll eat honeybuns with him after and he can hang out at Treasures though President's Day of the following season and join the team after the all-star break, but as it stands he's a rapper-chasing, fupa-having, ishtlock-wearing playoff choker and an entire city is not good with that.

The strength and durability is great. The problem is the example he sets. Not everyone can party all night and then come back and score a 50 point triple double. It's hard to be mad at Danuel House when you read about the standard set by Harden.

Agreed, I wanted to cut him. Danuel should be smart enough to know he isn't James Harden and therefore wont get away with the same shenanigans.

Sounds like Dantoni and the front office let James run wild and it created a toxic situation on the team. Makes me think that there is no way it works out with James staying here. James isn't going to listen to Silas if he wouldn't listen to his last 2 coaches.

Fair enough. It was a terrible decision, but let he who never tried to sneak a girl into the dorm cast the first stone.

Selfishly, I'm glad he's getting a second chance with the Rockets both because I like him and he's a good player on a very reasonable contract.

Pretty sure Harden wears padding around his torso for protection.

Personally, I prefer my all natural padding.

According to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets are working on getting a deal done soon for Harden.

"Houston would like to get this done sooner than later," Woj said. "But they've got to find the right deal. This is too important to the organization, long-term, and they have a checklist of what they would like in a deal."
