Makes no sense that Garrison Matthews is as serviceable as he's been. But I'll take it.

I realize we are in an easy part of the schedule. But removing Green from the lineup has made us better?

How did we not know this matthews guys was better before

I think it has more to do with playing Wood at the 5 and not playing Theiss. That and we were probably due for some improvement just because we couldn't have looked any worse to start the season.

I get that beating the Thunder is no major accomplishment, but the team actually played well with Theis in place of Wood. In general, playing any two big guys together has been a disaster and I think we have mostly given up on the idea. In exchange, we now play multiple shooters who play solid defense (Gordon and Mathews). The results speak for themselves.

We also now play a starting lineup where every single player has earned his time. Green hasn't been a disaster, but he has no business starting in the NBA. He needs to come off the bench when healthy and learn from our starters. That will severely hurt the Tank though.

There are no habits or instincts of Green that are good. On a 0-82 team someone is going average 18 ppg; averaging whatever points is so deceptive. He has to completely change his game with high discipline and self resistance. I wouldn't bet on it.

I'm trying to think of anyone who was this inefficient early who completely turned it around. Perhaps, you folks can think of someone. Devin Booker to some extent; though the analytics still think he's overrated. And CP3 is SO good that when he retires or is finished, I don't think a Booker led team even makes the playoffs.

I didn't get to see much after Wood got hurt last night but it looks like Theiss played well. Theiss should be the backup and he will likely thrive in that role.

As for Green, having a week or two off to sit and watch can't hurt. Hopefully Silas brings him off the bench until he does something to earn a spot in the starting lineup but I have a feeling he goes right back in when he is healthy. Might also have something to do with Gordon historically preferring to come off the bench as well.

That is still young.
A 4-5 year contract locks down his prime years. He feels a little Duncan Robinsony or Joe Harrisy. Neither of those guys broke out until the age of 25, and now you would love to have either.
