Coach Silas said Christian Wood broke a team rule, which kept him out of the starting lineup. It was a coach’s decision to keep him out in the second half.

Rockets point guard Kevin Porter Jr. lost his temper during a heated halftime discussion and didn’t return to the court, leaving the Toyota Center during the second half of tonight's loss to the Nuggets, sources told @wojespn and me.

Some drama tonight
Not really. Back in old army Harden ran off any coaches or players that challenged him…and back in real old army half our team was doing coke before games.helloimustbegoing said:

Team needs to make some trades.
Wood is overrated, hopefully someone takes him off our hands.
KPJ isn't a PG and he certainly isn't a leader. He has no real trade value, so I'm not sure what they should do with him.
Jalen green has the making of a really good offensive player, but his defensive effort has been complete garbage. I can't say it's really his fault though. The entire team plays soft on the defensive end, that's a coaching issue. Not a single player even contemplates boxing out.
I'm more inclined to hold on to KPJ than Wood. KPJ is clearly a flawed individual, but I think he wants to be a good teammate.Iowaggie said:AG@RICE said:

Seems like when you are rebuilding, it's worth it to start with the culture. At their current levels of maturity, both those guys need to be gone.Try to deal with the Lakers for a 2nd round pick because that's the only type of place where either could contribute and there are enough vets to keep one of them in check.
A 2nd rounder is better than a waive.

I agree. Wood is soft. He hardly boxes out. He has zero fight on the offensive boards. He tries to be a ballhandler/playmaker but just ends up picking up his dribble and making desperation passes (and has no court vision and is a bad passer in general)...or wasting 10 seconds before handing off to a guard. Really clogs the offense.AG@RICE said:I'm more inclined to hold on to KPJ than Wood. KPJ is clearly a flawed individual, but I think he wants to be a good teammate.Iowaggie said:AG@RICE said:

Wood on the other hand has to go. He is soft, selfish and a big time diva. I think if you remove him, the culture of the team improves 1000x. I need a desperate title contender to view his game with beer goggles on.
Eric Gordon when I asked him who is Christian Wood similar to. He mentions Anthony Davis.

I think we will be CHAMPIONS in THREE or FOUR YEARS. Hopefully. We have great rookies, we all take time. Jalen, me, Garuba, Josh Christopher… I think we will make a very good team. My goal is to be permanent. I always underline this. I want to be like Jokic.#Rockets pic.twitter.com/y7NqLkThcj
Reporting with @ESPN_MacMahon: The Houston Rockets are suspending Kevin Porter Jr., and Christian Wood for tonight’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, disciplining both for poor behavior surrounding Saturday’s loss to Denver.

I'd say the next month is his absolute last shot to be a professional basketball player in the US. If we cut him, nobody is touching him. I wish he understood the severity of his situation, but being traded to Houston for nothing didn't set him straight. He might be too stupid and emotionally immature to rehabilitate.Texaggie7nine said:

The fact that he felt like he needed to apologize is a good sign I guess but you are right about him running out of chances. He was the best player Cleveland had and they let him go for nothing. If he can't work it out with John Lucas on his side he won't work out these issues at all.AG@RICE said:I'd say the next month is his absolute last shot to be a professional basketball player in the US. Unfortunately when the talent is there, someone will continue to give him a shot until he does something unforgivable. He's a 21 y/o all-star level talent and has done nothing worse than misdemeanor level jackassery.AG@RICE said:I'd say the next month is his absolute last shot to be a professional basketball player in the US. I apologized. I did it to the group. I did it individually. I think just as a man and as a human, that's the right thing to do. Even if you feel like you're in the right, there's ways to approach things in situations, and I felt as a man, I didn't approach it the right way. So I apologize. I feel like that's just something you need to do, as a principled thing.

Note: Eric Gordon hasn't called the situation crazy. He hasn't blown up because a trade has yet to arrive. He just mentors the young guys, busts it on both ends of the floor and gives us countless memes.

I really hope the Rockets find a good trade that sends him to a contender. pic.twitter.com/DB8CZX7XXi

I’m learning that there was a man named Kevin Porter who played PG for the Washington Bullets from 1979-1983.

It would make way more sense that the announcer here was mistakenly referring to THAT Kevin Porter as KPJ’s father. Sincerely hope that’s the case. https://t.co/fOKVHFfjlr
