We gave up on rockets/lakers combo when we chose to mail in last season game and opted for Denver/Minn.

Minn... current reports have Edwards out at least 2 weeks, so he would likely miss first couple games of 2nd round if not more. I think either are bad matchups though for us, still baffles me how we lost that last game against Denver. Minn would have beat the Lakers though so either way it might have been Min, but would have been nice for Denver and OKC to slug it out first.

Believe he's saying we didn't get the #1 seed so won't face Lakers/Rockets in round 2.

The last game would have made no difference btw, as we finished 2 games behind OKC.

Instead of sitting Wemby the last season game, had we won and beat the Nuggets, we would be facing the lakers/rockets winner now. Instead they're in the other bracket with OKC and will lose.

So no chance we face Lakers, realistically.

I believe he was saying if we would have beat Denver last game it would have knocked them down the rankings (Lakers had the tie breaker) so we would be catching Lakers in the semis instead of Denver.

nba will be telling officials to make sure it isnt a sweep though for Lebrons swan song, take it to 7 for dramatic effect.

Incorrect. Our seed didn't matter, Denver's did.

There were a lot of tiebreaker scenarios on that final day, and the Lakers won their game….

Correct. If you scroll back a few few pages on this thread to the end of the season….. you will see a pros and cons discussion in detail about this. I felt at the time it was a huge mistake to rest Wemby and not take that game seriously.

That's correct. It would have been Lakers versus wolves and nuggets versus Rockets.

I think it was much to do about nothing and the most important thing was getting through that game with no injuries. You look real dumb if you Play hard in a game that doesn't change your seating in the playoffs and you come out of it with an injury

The other view is that if we feel we are destined to play Oklahoma City in the conference finals, keep in mind that they're going to completely whip, their easy second round, match up and have tons of rest where we won't have likely any now.

By losing that last game, we made life very easy for OKC.

I agree and they had morez going 17 to Oklahoma City.

I would take Swain over Lopez. I think Swain is a bigger, stronger Keldon Johnson with better defense. He has positive shooting indicators and he's less of a project than Lopez. But I think Lopez will be a bigger player and Lopez is younger.

If you want to take a project, Quaintance was still on the board and I think he has a higher ceiling and could be the Kornet replacement in 2-3 years.

Maybe. Denver is playing like **** The Lakers are playing great and the Lakers are getting all the calls. I think Reeves is coming back tonight and their hope is that Luca will be back for the start of the second round.

Even if all that's true - I still think it's far easier than Denver or Minnesota. Luka will be rusty or not 100%… and the "all the calls" thing won't last.

Have I ever mentioned that I think Daryl Morey is the more overrated executive in NBA history by far simply because OKC's owners gifted him Harden so they wouldn't have to pay a few bucks in tax
