"Lebron has informed the Lakers he intends to play elsewhere next year" would have worked fine too. Shams' desperation to cater to how agents want tweets worded is kinda annoying.

LeBron is still all Star level good, but the Lakers weren't going to win another title with him. Need to move on and spend the next two years retooling to roster to take advantage of Luka's prime

Lebron joining STeph and the warriors feels like a late 90s Rockets move adding first Barkley, then Pippen to try and find one more title. If Lebron really wants another ring, the East seems like a much better idea; the Spurs and Thunder are way too young and athletic to be challenged by the Warriors + LBJ.

Must be fond of the training staff.

At least 3 more years of Timelord being mentioned in trade rumors at deadline.

That team is all centers and PGs. Surely there are more major moves coming from the Blazers

Was just talking to a buddy of mine last week bout the pure joy of Malone and Payton trying to get that ring with the Lakers and getting taken to pound town by the Pistons in '04. Payton finally got his with the '06 Heat, but Malone went 0-fer.

If they actually trade for and get Anthony Davis, which would have to mean trading Jimmy Butler, then I just don't get it... can't take that seriously.

He's nicknamed 'street clothes' for a reason.

If LeBron joined the Spurs they might not lose a single game next season. Let the young guys run out to a 20 point lead every game and then let LeBron walk the ball up, not dribble it off his foot, and make sure they get a decent shot every possession.

So, what happens if the NBA decides that both the Clippers and Kawhi get punished for their role in the salary cap circumvention case?

Is there any chance the Raps just traded for a guy who may be suspended? They sent a lot away for a guy that might play 40 games due to either suspension or injury.

Kawhi can't be suspended for it under the rules. They can force Kawhi to pay back all money from Aspiration, they can void his contract, and they can fine him like 350k-500k or something like that.

Obviously they aren't voiding the contract or the league wouldn't let the trade go through.

Most of the punishments will be on the Clippers. Can lose an undetermined number of picks, everyone that knows can be suspended 1 year, and they can get fined (I think 7M max)

What.the.****?! I knew this trade was going to happen and knew it'd be Ingram and Dick, but what the hell were the Raptors thinking giving up those picks on top of that? Who the hell were they even bidding against? I thought Ingram and Dick straight up for a 35 year old injury prone star was a pretty fair deal, maybe with a pick swap and or a 2nd rounder, but this is straight robbery by the Clippers. And with the east getting stronger next year, the Raptors clearly looking to be mid for the next few years, and the recent changes to the draft, those Raptors picks are going to be a lot more valuable.
