That guy had the most melodramatic death. It looked like he was listening to Pantera on his headphones.

I guess the playoffs gave some stiff competition. But ttt just because two AL East teams are in the playoffs... again...

Yeah, and you are seeing the edited version. I didn't see the actual event either but from what I was told, it was pretty damn UGLY!

Feel for Ranger fan...you got to keep the foot on the pedal against the mfys. Lack of playoff experience is evident.

The Yankees have proven they are absolutely terrified of Josh Hamilton through these first two games. They know who their daddy is, they know who is the best player in all of Major League Baseball.

One thing that I've learned as a Sox fan over the years... once the playoffs start, it isn't a matter of luck.

The Red Sox may be moving the right field fence in! It is really deep so moving it in will help left handed hitters. With the exception of Pesky Pole, a player really needs to crush it to get one out of there.

So, do the Sox go out looking for another lefty slugger, or do they stand pat on that front?

Assuming Beltre leaves, would they look at Youkilis at third and an Adam Dunn/Carlos Pena to take over at first?

i've read that they may make a run at derek lee, who i believe is a FA this year.

I've heard adam dunn as a possibility as well.

they may make a run at jason werth for LF and try to trade ellsbury to make room

really hope they just throw all their money at cliff lee and trade dice-k to a national league team

Looks like John Farrell has finally agreed to be a manager. Lots of teams have talked about him over the years but it appears he is ready to move on to Toronto. I really thought that he was going to Cleveland but oh well.

It does create an environment where the Sox can begin talks with their next Pitching Coach - Jason Varitek!!!

Kid,

I wouldn't assume the Beltre is going anywhere.

Holy cow... Page 8.

Back to the top of page 1, for now.

Rays decline options on Willy Aybar and Dan Wheeler. It's not out of the question that they won't resign with the Rays, though. Personally, I won't be sad to see Wheeler go, as he's frequently been an "Oh, crap, he's coming in to pitch" kind of guy for me. Aybar is a pretty good IF/DH guy, but if the Rays are going to slash payroll, they won't be paying someone $2,000,000 to play in 60% of the games and hit .240.

Sox are seriously going after Jason Wyeth and Carl Crawford.

I hope they get both of them and dump Ellsbury and Cameron. Of course I would trade JD Drew for either of them straight up!
LeonardSkinner

So, this Wyeth guy... Does he play outfield in addition to painting?

I know free agency is a fact of life, but seeing CC in a Boston uniform would be a major kick to the crotch. What's the deal, the Yankees steal Johnny Damon and you think it's okay to do the same to Tampa?
Say Chowdah

Ooops - Jason Werth.

Still, I would take a proven good AL Easter over a great NL player any day. A .300 average in the AL East = .325 in the NL.

And for the record, I think the Sox duped the Yankees into taking Damon for that price. He was definately good, but he wasn't THAT good. It was more the emotional trauma that it created than missing his bat and glove. His arm? HAHA!

I think that they Rays need to do their time as the AL East picking grounds. The Sox have had that role for too damn long!
