Bittersweet. This is the 2nd generation of core Astros I've seen retire. First, Biggio and Bagwell. And now Oswalt and Berkman. Hope Altuve and Cosart last a long time.

Any chance that this news means the Comcast deal looks a little better for the Astros for the coming years? With Comcast buying Time Warner, they just really expanded their possible subscriber base (they will now own 75% of the cable TV market) and hopefully a few more of us will be able to see them soon.

You are correct, but 75% of the cable market. About 60% of households have satellite TV I believe. Which is really the only thing stopping the government from getting involved in some anti-trust issues here.

The Houston Astros have announced that they will celebrate the careers of Lance Berkman and Roy Oswalt with a special pregame ceremony prior to the Saturday, April 5 game vs. the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The ceremony will include retirement gifts and several of Berkman and Oswalt’s former teammates and family members. Prior to the ceremony, the Astros will hold a press conference during which each player will be signed to a one-day contract so that they can officially retire as Astros. All fans attending will receive a special commemorative item.

“We are honored to celebrate the careers of Lance and Roy, two of the best players in Astros history,” said President of Business Operations Reid Ryan. “Both were elite players and among the best of their era, and both played extremely significant roles in the most successful run in Astros history.

I didn't even think about viruses. I'm "old" and I've never streamlined a sporting event in my life. Are viruses common?

I used firstrowsports for a while and it did screw up my computer. Lots of pop-ups and stuff. But I trust Hickory and since he's been using it all year I assume it's a good website. I haven't tried it.
