How long do you want to ignore this user?
From Jayson Stark's column

More doubles (668) than any right-handed hitter who ever lived. No kidding. … The only player in the past 100 years who can say he had a 50-double, 50-steal season. No kidding. … One of just three players in history who got 3,000 hits and spent most of his career at second base -- and neither of the other two (Eddie Collins, Nap Lajoie) has shown up in a box score for more than 80 years. … Made a gigantic impact as a power/speed/leadoff force at three premium positions (catcher/second base/center field). Still hard to believe he didn't get elected last year. But this time for sure. Right?

Biggio was a good player for a long time and a great player for 2-3 years. He's HOF worthy, just not first ballot.

He'll get in 2015 or 2016.

This isn't his first ballot

utterly pathetic that Bidge didn't make it in this year

This proved that hall of fame voting needs to be taken out of sports writers hands.

Former coaches and former players with no voting g for anyone you played with.

He's not 2nd ballot worthy either apparently.

Upon further review:
Career sub .300 BA
Only over .300 4 times in a 20 year career (25%)
MVP highest voting was #4
7/20 years all-star (35%)
Sub 800 career OPS
3/20 Gold Gloves
200 hits only once as a leadoff man
Averaged out to a .281, 17 hr, 67 RBI, 38 double, 24 SB guy.

That's really good and someone I'd like on my team everyday of the week. He's the hall of really good and really long career.

Wow ^^^^^^ I'm not going to waste my time and provide all the ridiculous numbers and stats he has over hall of famers.

Now average it out if he played full seasons when he was injured. Then compare him to other players in the hall at 2nd base and discuss their position versatility compared to his.

I'll wait.

the fact that you included how many times he made the all-star team as a detriment to his case makes it hard to take you seriously.

Injuries are a part of the game.

Since becoming a full-time player he only played in fewer than 134 games twice in 20 years (1994 and 2000)

And did you count those years as if they were full seasons? That's two years in his prime sandwiched between all star and gold glove years.

Keep arguing bud. You are doing great!

Hit by pitch HAS to be worth .02%, right? They're just waiting to get biggio and bags in together...

Since 1994 was strike shortened - everyone missed those games. Why factor them out?

Injuries are a part of the game, bro.

Want to go on to post season stats?

Quick glance shows Kent > Biggio there too

Jeff Kent was an atrocious fielder.

So because he wasn't good enough to win the MVP, he's not good enough to be first/second/third ballot HOF?

Sounds right.

He was never the most dominant player at his position for an extended amount of time in the league. Take 1997-1998 out, and he's definitely not even the best at his position for any amount of time.

I'm not gonna waste my time arguing with kids on the internet about Biggio. I know he's gonna get in, just hoping Bagwell does eventually as well. I don't care about WAR stats but 1500 rbi's in 15 seasons should get you in.

So you say he was never the best player in the league, and then say to exempt the two years where he was the best player in the league. LOL.

he was never the best player AT HIS POSITION FOR AN EXTENDED AMOUNT OF TIME. If you exclude the two years above, he was never ever the best person at his position for any amount of time.

Take it up with Bill James. If you want to argue with him you might as well just go ahead and start deleting all of those posts with stats in them.

Craig Biggio was an all-star second baseman 6 times.

Craig Biggio received MVP votes 5 times. In all 5 cases no 2nd baseman was higher up in the balloting.

Biggio received 4 gold gloves as the best fielding second baseman. He received 4 silver sluggers as the best hitting second baseman.

Craig Biggio was also an all-star CATCHER. He received the silver slugger as the best hitting CATCHER once as well in another season.
