I assure you, he'll sign. There is way too much risk associated with high school pitchers for him to turn down this amount of money and expect to be 1.1 again next year.

late in the game Kolek flipped from wanting to go to Houston because he knew he was going to get lowballed. The same things is happening with Aiken. Kolek has thrree outings already. Such a shame.

Lunhow don't eff around.

I like Lunhow, I think he has us going in the right direction but he is in danger of completely whiffing on back to back #1's. The idea was to gut the team to get high draft picks, well that only works out if you sign the guys or pick ones that are worth a damn. The last two years look really really really bad and its all on Lunhow.

I don't think you can pin Appel on Lunhow.

Everyone projected him as the No. 1 pick and even as the safe pick. Anyone would've picked 1.1 and if we wouldn't have he would've gone 1.2.

I don't know if the 'Stanford curse' existed back then, but he looks like another Cardinal bust.

2014 numbers so far: .232 BA, 8 HR, 26 RBI, .386 SLG, .690 OPS

and perhaps the worst number...he's already 27 years old. Not a young pup anymore. Another Ed Wade masterstroke it appears. 2014 salary is $2.45 million. At least his arbitration case is weak

In response to how so, the Astros will not be a destination for players as long as the front office is thought of as shady. Boras and Close are already both very critical of the organization and what those guys think matters big time.

And nowadays no one cares if you've got a good team and money they'll play for you. How you a treat a high school draft pick is not going to have any bearing on how veteran free agents view your organization.
