Really hope it's nothing serious.

Rangers in a full blown mega dive. Ronnie might not last the season

It's not a health issue. He's hired an attorney to represent him. You don't do that if you get cancer.

According to Daniels, the move was finalized Friday, although the team was aware of the situation for a few weeks. When asked if Washington considered taking a leave of absence, Daniels said, "We looked at a variety of different things. Ultimately this was right for him."

I don't know anything about the trouble he may be in, but this is not a health issue. At least not a health issue where he is dying or someone in his family is dying.

My source is as good as you can get on this.
Anyways, the media will dig this out soon enough.

Gary Pettis, Ron Washington's closest friend on staff said he had no idea that anything was amiss. Completely gut-punched.#Rangers

quote:Holland pitched 2 innings, and gave up a home run and another hit in 2 innings. Holland was on short rest, while Colby was on extra rest. While Holland was brilliant, he had also thrown 116 pitches in that effort. Colby hadn't been as brilliant in Game 2, but 6.2 innings with 4 hits, 2 walks, and only 1 earned run is hardly going to make you feel like you need to shut a guy down for the post-season.quote:

Which isn't saying much ...quote:

Or anything to do with a number of bonehead manager decisions too. We could have started Wilson or Holland (who was brilliant in Game 4), and Wash or Pettis should have addressed Cruz playing too shallow. He also should have sent ANYONE other than Oliver out to finish that game - I would have been happier to see Feliz have another go. He shouldn't have let Colby bat with a 2-out, 4-3 lead, and it was a horrible decision to let Colby bunt into a double play in the 2nd.
Thanks for taking me back to that place ...

I don't understand the Feliz-Oliver comment as Feliz came in the game in the 9th to close it out,

They could have elected play Cruz further back, except that doesn't make just a hole lot of sense

The entire team, and maybe Washington included, completely capitulated in Game 7 and didn't even gives themselves a chance.
