Evan Grant tweeted last night that another potential candidate is Mark McGwire.

I saw a video clip of Leonys Martin talking about it and he just seemed really sad and shocked. Described it as "horrible"

If he quit over that then I'm glad. No reason to put Yu out there and risk an injury in a 100 loss season. How someone doesn't see that just baffles me, but Wash made some pretty bonehead moves so I'm not too surprised.

I heard my first conspiracy theory on the radio yesterday. The whole thing is Jon Daniels' fault. He got rid of Jackie Moore because he was a Nolan guy. Then he pushed Nolan out the door along with Wash. There were at least 2 callers in the five minutes I was listening claiming it was Jon Daniels.

I guarantee Tim Bogar did more as bench coach than Jackie Moore. I can only imagine Jackie Moore's reaction to instant replay. I can't see him wanting any part of that.

If that's the case, we've been lied to: the front office has vehemently said it was in no way related to anything on the field - someone even said it was not baseball related at all.

Totally reliable blogs as sources.

Wash needs to step up and say what it is. Otherwise, there is going to be a lot of inaccurate and unfair speculation that will rope in others - it's already started. It sucks not to have full privacy, but that was the life and profession he chose and was paid well for.

Or he could whatever he wants since its not your business.

The only one being thrown under a bus is JD and the people doing it don't like him anyway.

Wash doesn't owe anyone anything.

My life isn't so empty to need him to disclose... hopefully yours isn't either.

The reason will ultimately come out... it always does... Makes no good to throw anyone under the bus... or speculate incessantly.

It was shocking... surprising... and disappointing (if you were a Wash fan).

The details are less important to me, until they come out.

Time to move on.

BTW... regarding Darvish... It wouldn't surprise me if Wash supported Darvish, in Darvish returning to pitch.

I think Darvish wanted to return and Wash supported him returning. I think they exemplifies Darvish is a competitor who wants to pitch. I think Wash supporting Darvish demonstrates why players like Wash.

I think JD feels snake bit this season and knows if Darvish goes down and impacts 2015, that he'll be destroyed by critics. Shutting down Darvish is the "safe" thing to do and costs nothing... with nothing to lose.

That being said... everything I've seen regarding these types of situations leaves me to believe Wash would have carried Darvish's message to JD, et al... lobbied for Darvish... but at the end of these things... Wash takes the decision and is a "company guy." He knew what his role was.

I think it actually IS debatable whether you bring Darvish back now (e.g. injury risk would cancel spring training appearances as well), however, I can't see Wash leaving the club over this. Perhaps one thing led to another.

I'm pretty confident it has nothing to do with the Darvish decision. That just doesn't line up with the emotional reaction from everyone who has been interviewed and the reports that it wasn't related to anything on the field.

I think the truth will come out. It sounds like too many people know the real deal to keep it quiet. I don't think Wash or JD is under any obligation to tell us the truth, but I'm just curious as Hell. However, as a fan, I would like some sort of confirmation that it's nothing nefarious related to the club like gambling.

I know its all speculation, but when you guys say gambling, are you really suggesting it could be baseball related?

If not, what kind of gambling would get him in trouble? I don't know what the rules are here.

The premise of the question is obvious: there's NO WAY Wash is stupid enough to gamble on baseball. Or is he??

MLB wouldn't screw around if it were betting on baseball.

ESPN Baseball tonight the day it happened:

heath sutcliffe, former teammate and cohost, spoke briefly to Wash. On air, he said it was a health concern within the family and that its serious enough for this to be justified. He will return to baseball next year someway but not as the Rangers manager. He asked for thought and prayers.

JD's interview on 103.3 today just seemed kind of odd to me....he said "it's Wash's story to tell" and alluded to it eventually coming out.

Something like that I'd think she would just take off the year and be back in Spring.

Since we're just making stuff up... I heard he was interviewing for the Astros for the newly vacant job. Rather than all the hub-bub, he has resigned from the Rangers and will be announced by the Astros at the end of the season.

The owners and JD were disappointed he chose to resign.

Remember that when compiling hypotheticals.
