Odor was a good hitter when they extended him. But two things happened - (1) he fell in love with the HR and the one outcome approach and (2) sometimes it takes some time for the league to develop a book on a guy. They were slow to catch on to the fact that he almost never walked in those first 2 years. Finally they realized that and quit giving him as much to hit. He's walking more now so you can see him trying to adjust a bit, but it's just not his game.
