I have heard so many takes on both sides of the Pete Rose issue that I can't even say with 100% certainty what are facts. Is Trump's claim accurate about betting only on his team to win?

MLB revenue up from $9B in 2014 to $12.1B in 2024, a 33% growth. D1 College baseball is up as well 31% growth over the same period.

TV viewership could be explained by the RSN cluster. Youth baseball? More kids playing soccer and other sports, and more kids staying home to play video games?

Dying though? I'm not sure about that.

I will give you college baseball, because it was starting from damn near zero before SECN / SECN+ type agreements meant nearly every game was televised. Dramatic increase from before that when it was literally just a handful of game per weekend.

Now do NBA and NFL? Revenue hasn't grown nearly as much as those though.

Yep, and the commissioner at the time offered him a deal for a one year ban for "betting on baseball", but in his arrogance Rose refused it and insisted he was innocent. The commissioner had to pursue the investigation and Rose wound up with a permanent ban for "betting on his own team"
