ABreg is one of my favorites and I believe his leadership is invaluable but at this point it is time to move on. We still need at least one or two more pieces. I hate he has Boras reping him but that is on him. Hopefully he goes to the NL or Canada.

Everyone else is shorter with a slightly higher AAV but no one is willing to go higher.

The big problem for Bregman and Boras is that his Astros offer is fair because it's the best one on the table. He can ask and want for whatever but the market is proving that he's not worth more than 6/156.

To get the deal done, I'd offer a lower yearly with huge incentives. Average, OBP, Homer, RBI, GG, etc milestones. Play well, get paid.

They signed Walker and moved Tucker to bring in Paredes. They're talking to others every day.
If they were waiting for Bregman to sign somewhere before doing anything, that would be organizational malpractice.
Maybe the Astros are just doing Bregman and Boras a solid by acting interested to help him get a better deal. Our way of saying thanks to Alex, and a little goodwill to Boras for future dealings.
I know that's likely not what is happening, but it just feels like it's all for show and that there's no way Bregman comes back. The move just doesn't fit financially or defensively
