Yeah, if a guy hitting under .200 can't handle being moved down in the lineup, he is not the clubhouse/team guy Boras wants everybody to believe he is.AggiEE said:EastCoastAgNc said:AggiEE said:texasaggie2015 said:This is correctsuperaggie73 said:txags92 said:Good. My guess is Bregman really wants to be in Boston and they are really close on acquiring Arenado so he is finally giving up on a long term deal and going 2-3 with opt outs with Boston.
I don't get his preference for that vs. taking the Astros offer.
I was listening to the sports map guys and apparently he was one of the big complainers about how espada handled things last year (got pissed about how he communicated that he was being moved down in the lineup when he was really sucking, etc). Maybe he likes Cora/AJ more and doesn't want to play for Joe.
That sounds petty
Bregman was awful for a huge part of the year

yes, Altuve is or will be the Astros' designated old guy making too much money by 2026 or 2027MaxPower said:
Yeah I think we are already going to be overpaying Jose in a couple years. The problem is we don't have the depth of high quality bats on the farm to replace guys like we did 6 or 7 years ago. We will need to pay big dollar contracts, whether to retain our own guys or backfill in free agency.

I know hope is a poor strategy, but I refuse to believe Chas will be as bad in 2025 as he was in 2024. That is still an improved OF from last year (not counting when Tucker was healthy).

to be fair to Bregman...
Fenway Park will give him a chance to put up big numbers
he has 7 career HR's and 9 career doubles there in just 80 at-bats
should not be too difficult to post an .800 OPS with the Red Sox (if he will go back to taking his walks)
how he fares in road games will be interesting to watch

Quote:
Brown has remained tepid, if not unenthusiastic, about Houston's chances of retaining Bregman since the club re-engaged with agent Scott Boras last month. Team sources have privately echoed Brown's skepticism, but won't completely rule Houston out on Bregman.
The collective bargaining agreement prohibits Brown from publicly ruling his club out on any potential free agent, hence the language he's adopted across the past two weeks. Brown has previously called a reunion with Bregman "a long shot."

The angels really fumbled a sure thing. Had Shohei and Trout both on the same roster and haven't made the playoffs in 10 years. Unbelievable

I get why you posted the video content wise, but I am not familiar with the guy in it. Is he trying to channel Jim Rome? That was cringe watching him try to be intense-funny.
