If it's less than 20 games then that means the Astros are being 100% truthful about injuries and he's only out for the minimum … Based on the track record, I'd imagine he's out for more than six weeks and it's closer to 30 games since he'll get rehab games.
Given that the division race and wildcard race will probably come down to a game or two like it has the last two seasons… I'd say it's a pretty bad injury for the team

True… But given their history with injuries I'd say whatever the believed recovery time is, it'll be longer than that. I'm anticipating him missing the first 30 games or so just based on how oblique injuries usually go
If it's a grade 2 strain, it could be up to two months. Given the six weeks minimum timeline that's probably what it is.

He missed a month last year with the same thing. Ketch's reported timeline is longer than that. I don't think this is some optimistic prediction.
I think we can assemble a platoon to make it not as big of a deal but it is a rough loss. Especially given we were looking at him to be a 30 HR 80-90 RBI type of hitter.

So Walker not in the line up in April = typical Bregman April production … so nothing lost.

Walker missed 32 games last year and still had 26 HR, 84 RBI. That's a lot of production. You also lose a gold glove at 1B with him out.
Wonder if we get more reps at 1B for Yanier and/or Caritini and we break camp with Salazar on the roster.
Time for Big Jon's offseason work to pay off.

The concern to me is that the season hasn't even started and he's got another oblique injury just like last year.
This may be way more serious than we thought and could drag on throughout the season or perhaps his entire contract

My post was just I don't think the Walker injury means the Astros are in a position where the injury requires them to get Nolan to make up for it. I think they'll overall be fine. My hope is it would allow Caratini to get a few more ABs in April.

It's a joke. MLB The Show ranks players by diamond, gold, silver, bronze and common. Common is the lowest -- guys rated 64 and under. The lowest rated player on The Show last year was like 49.iBrad said:
