The rail on the club levels is very low at MMP. As a tall person it makes me nervous
I really thought they had the extender on them like at NRG.

They are low and glass at Toyota Center, no extender. Went to a Rockets game last year, and sat first row, top deck. I was nervous.

The fall back down to earth is proving rough for the Rangers.

Shame that big fancy stadium will be empty every night this summer.

They have the lowest total number of Runs scored in the AL. I thought our offense was an abomination, but Texas is just a travesty right now. 103 total runs in 32 games. WOOF

You hate to see it

The most inept offense in history was the 1968 Chicago White Sox with a whooping 2.85 run per game clip.

The Rangers are currently firing along at 3.22...

He has struggled in the bigs so far but I'd be interested in trying to buy low on Baty. We aren't getting anything out of 2B right now anyway.

I brought up his name in the offseason thread (before we traded for Paredes). I think we could definitely buy low and he'd be an improvement over our options at 2B right now. Baty could play 3rd, move Paredes to 2B.

And he'd be a much needed left hand bat.

Stat of the day: White Sox and Rockies BOTH won last night, and Rockies have beaten the Braves 2 in a row.
Think we're frustrated so far this year? Atlanta has had to win 7 of its last 10 to get to 14-16. Meanwhile over in the AL East, the Orioles are 12-18, in last, and already 5.5 games back of the Yankees. The team that was supposed to take over for the Astros as the AL powerhouse is spiraling badly and still hasn't won a playoff game since 2012.

Baty has already been playing 2B this year and has graded out well.

I thought they won a game against the rangers in 2023? I know they didn't win the series
No matter what!

Astros Bingo Update 5-2-25
Just realized the palindromic loveliness of that date. Michael Scott would throw a party if he were still at Dunder-Mifflin / Sabre.

Justin Verlander was within 6 outs of his first win last night after a really nice effort and the Giants' bullpen blew it for him.

Tucker hit HR #8, on pace for 41.

The Angels double-dipped on Astros' Bingo last night. They lost their 18th game and are now on pace for 97 and also put Trouty Mouth (my kids and I are watching Glee on Netflix, I apologize) on the DL. A popular square this year is if he plays 100 games or not. He was 28-for-28 through Wednesday but didn't play last night.

A's won again to get to 17-15, now on pace for 86 wins just like our Astros.

Dodgers won to improve to 21-10, on pace for 110 wins.

White Sox won to get to 8-23, but still on pace for 120 losses.

In a 4 game series that saw their starters give up 2, 0, 1, and 1 runs the rangers went 1-3 against the A's

Maybe if he'd been performing like that we would have backed up the Brink's truck for him.

He keeps it up and he'll opt out of the Red Sox contract and go back on the market.

I don't know. It'll be interesting.

They're paying him his $30mil per and he loves hitting in Fenway and playing for Cora. He's a really good fit.

Why leave?

I'm sure we'll get some candid interviews when we finally meet but usually with players of Bregman's mental makeup when they blow up somewhere else they claim they went back to the basics and got rid of the noise. Just see ball hit ball. Yordan is the same type that can get in his own head with a million things going through it and watch a cement mixer like that pitch for a strike
MaxPower
How long do you want to ignore this user?
He's actually hit better on the road this year but his ratios would indicate that shouldn't be the case. I agree Fenway will be a major factor to his success long term (similar to Paredes here) and if he's more intetested in pursuing the HOF he should stay there. I think it's just as much to do with comfort level there and how he sees the ball as the green monster.

Spot on

Someone posted something yesterday about how Bregs read and embraced some self help book and it reinvigorated his love of the game. He said he's gone back to embracing the grind and he's gone back to enjoying just hitting line drive after line drive.

Why it took a change of scenery is the big question but seems like he's back to cage rat Bregs.

Lots of panic over Bregman and Tucker, but those guys are all-stars who have both been in MVP conversations at some points in their career. Playing well shouldn't be a shock. Bregman put up some pretty good stretches of baseball here, too.

I don't recall any injuries last season, but prior to that, Bregman played through a few different injuries that impacted his performance, some of which required surgery.

It might just be that he's healthy and playing without the weight of a contract year on his mind. A lot of guys get a renewed energy when they change teams and get a fresh start.

I think after seeing guys like Springer and Correa leave and not quite have the same success, seeing Bregman and Tucker have success stings a little. But Tucker was not going to resign here, and as much as it seems like we had a chance with Bregman, I don't think he had any intention on coming back.
