Happy 6 year anniversary to this gem…

The fact that we didn't win it all in 2019 is absurd

That's still the one that will haunt us.

I'll always contend that the 4 we played in evened out.

We won one we should have against Philly
We won one we shouldn't have against LA

We lost one we should have against Atlanta
We lost one we shouldn't have against Wash

I'd contend we should have beaten Atlanta given their record and ours… but losing Lance in the ALDS sealed it (crazy as that sounds today). But we had the offense to win it

Atlanta was hitting HRs at home like they were playing in a LL park that year. All kinds of guys had career years. Almost like they had special balls or something.

If I had to pick 2 cities to beat out of those 4 it would be LA and Philly.

Going to the game last Sunday and I look at the pennant/WS flags and it bothers me. There should be, to me, only one pennant flag and 4 WS flags. 2019 sticks out the most, but so does 2018.

~egon

I have never understood why they don't put a flag for the pennant on the years they won the WS. They still won the pennant, you don't lose that because you won the series.

I guess they're going for symmetry? Three pennant and 2 WS flags vs. 5 pennant and 2 WS?

I agree, we put the divison flags up, why not pennant?

Atlantas whole outfield was trade deadline acquisitions

Of course they did lose Acuna for the year and Charlie Morton for the series to injury

If I'm in a good mood this is how I rationalize it. If I'm not, 2019 still really hurts and the dynasty feels incomplete. The best Astros team ever and we let one get away. Two rings are great (the minimum), three is better. I don't think I will ever get over it. **** the Nats forever.

2017 was a coin flip IMO. I don't mind 2021 - we weren't beating Atlanta with our pitching.

Couldn't disagree more about Philly. We won 106 games. Swept the mariners. Swept the Yankees. Had 2 aces in JV and Framber and a stacked lineup. We absolutely didn't sneak one away in 2022.

Reread it. The LA one is the one "we shouldn't have". But I am not really sure why.

The 2017 team was also better than LA. The only WS I felt like we weren't the better team was Atlanta.

For me, it's hard to classify the Phi series as a should have won because we had dusty.

At the stadium we only put the division flags up on years we didn't win the pennant or WS… the 90s, 2004, 2018, 2020, 2023, 2024 etc

How the **** does a player tear a hamstring running out a single to first base and require 6-7 months?

I would find it weird if we hung multiple pennants for the same season. Obviously, if you won the WS then you won the pennant.

Signing him for next to nothing at that. $500k/yr, minimal posting fee and deferred $$ forever.

Easy to do with a lean, muscular build and your not constantly keeping the muscle loose and warmed up.

When it was already damaged and medical staff put a bandage on it.

Speaking of the Dodgers, they have been weirdly quiet this deadline. I expected a big out-of-nowhere move for them. I wouldn't be shocked if they land someone like Mason Miller or Sandy.

We replaced a hamstring vulnerable 3rd baseman for another.

Not sure easy to do is something that comes to mind.

He's a Professional athlete, I assume he warms up before the games

I've just never heard of anyone that does cardio tearing a hamstring off the bone …he wasn't running that fast to first

Very likely. Same thing with Jake.

Our medical team is trash. I get that we want to win now but rest days are important

I get the As being dead men walking this year, but every time I see them I think they have underperformed this year. They have a ton of good looking young hitters. Trading Miller would seem nuts to me.

And trading Miller for less than what they should get (it's LAD and that's what they seem to get teams to do) really would make no sense.
