Where is Cody Freeman? He's exactly the type of guy we've needed at the plate the last 4 innings

5.1 IP, 97 pitches. That's not going to cut it

Freeman and Higgy should be playing every freaking day.

Here's how this inning is going to go, de Grom will get two outs and get pulled.

I stand corrected. Would have liked a GiDP there but got a BB.

Bochy is probably waiting for a random lefty to get inserted with this platoon bull****

Move deGrom to the bullpen if you're going to handle him with kid gloves.

Here's what $40 million gets you. He did feast in June on the likes of PIT, WAS and CHW

Tampa and Indians tied, Seattle up, KC up. Nothing is easy.

We all knew deGrom would have to hold them to zero or one with our AAA lineup against Brown. He just wasn't good enough.

I think we've gotten more out of de Grom than most expected. He's had a few stinkers and missed one start. He's kept us in most of the games he's pitched, even tonight.

The bottom line is that our offense has had their chances and de Grom has given them those chances. The O just hasn't executed, and that has been a problem all season.

I'm happy Boch brought us a WS in 2023, but he doesn't need to be back next season. In fact, most of the coaching needs to find another job

Fox broadcast mentioned that this team has only come from 2 runs down 6 TIMES ALL SEASON. To be honest, this was a problem 2 years ago. As good as the numbers looked, we know that most of them were from the first 60 games, the world series was won with pitching and defense, and the Rangers have not been a good late inning offense for a long time when trailing.

I remember that as well. It took us until close to the all star break that year or maybe even a little after to get a win when trailing after 7 innings.

We also got career years out of Heim, Seager, Garcia, Zeke, Lowe, Taveras, and thus far Jung.

We were like 0-60 when behind after the 7th, until late Aug?!

I think we were 0-42 when we got our first win after trailing late. Don't ask me why I remember.

Milner has been bad. That just can't happen but we all m know none of it matters at this point. They wernt scoring three in the 8th and 9th.

1.5 back of wildcard and will be behind KC now as well. Game could've been completely different if literally anyone could hit the ball with guys on base.

IMO, he has been over-used and is in need of a break.

Bochy rode him hard for a bit using him as the BP savior. Paying for it now.

A good late inning offense has to do more than pound mistakes. You have to spoil pitches, take walks, turn over the order one more time, get another arm into the game...constantly apply pressure. Setting aside Ohtani, Schwarber, Raleigh, and Judge, who are the top 10 - 20 players you hate to face when you need an out. TEX has exactly one of those guys, and he plays about two-thirds of the time. And the lineup doesn't have any pests like Arraez.

Saw someone say same thing to Evan on twitter. I know I shouldn't be but, I'm just so dejected right now. Aggie football doesn't bother me anymore but being so close after 5.5 months to a postseason birth these guys irk me.

I think he's in need of developing a real third pitch he can throw more than 10-15% of the time.

According to AI:

Quote:

According to reports from June 29, 2023, the Rangers were 0-21 in games where they trailed after 7 innings. There was a specific instance mentioned where they were 0-47 when trailing after the 8th inning before achieving their first such comeback win on August 31, 2023.

I don't know how a team culture lends itself to 3 consecutive years of not being clutch.

Possibility? You give too much value to hero hitting. We dumped Late Lowe in favor of Burger who is a 4S FB hitter with power. We added Pederson who is a 4S FB power hitter against only RHP.

The "Little Rascals" are good for the small ball necessary, but none of them are MLB hitters. They're role players.

I'm just here for the 7 pitch innings by scrub RPs.

I can't quit watching but it's nice that we made that inning quick. Just go ahead and end this one.

I haven't expected much from this team since probably May. I'd like for them to get into the playoffs but I just don't see it happening this year.

Any Catcher facing the Rangers.

Many of you documented on this very thread saying the season was over 2 months ago.

With 4 of our Top 5 WAR players on the shelf...

We're 1.5 games out of the playoffs with 20 left to play. Stop hyper-fixating on single games in a 162 game season.

It's September. That's what happens in tight races. April/ May/ June? Not so much.

We just can't get out of this inning. Bosushley should just wear it, at this point.

I guess we're going to let Duran give it a go.

And if this team was full strength or close to it, I might understand it.

This is a AAA lineup that has managed to make it interesting with 3 weeks to play.

For sure but why not live and die by each game and hope they can sneak in the tournament? Do most of us truly believe it will happen? I'd say no but it's more fun to think they can!

I guess I should rephrase, I don't disagree with living and dying by each game down the stretch as that's what makes a race fun.

But the teams losing to this AAA lineup should be a lot more frustrated than the Rangers.
