Where is Cody Freeman? He's exactly the type of guy we've needed at the plate the last 4 innings

Here's how this inning is going to go, de Grom will get two outs and get pulled.

I think we've gotten more out of de Grom than most expected. He's had a few stinkers and missed one start. He's kept us in most of the games he's pitched, even tonight.
The bottom line is that our offense has had their chances and de Grom has given them those chances. The O just hasn't executed, and that has been a problem all season.

Milner has been bad. That just can't happen but we all m know none of it matters at this point. They wernt scoring three in the 8th and 9th.

I think we were 0-42 when we got our first win after trailing late. Don't ask me why I remember.

A good late inning offense has to do more than pound mistakes. You have to spoil pitches, take walks, turn over the order one more time, get another arm into the game...constantly apply pressure. Setting aside Ohtani, Schwarber, Raleigh, and Judge, who are the top 10 - 20 players you hate to face when you need an out. TEX has exactly one of those guys, and he plays about two-thirds of the time. And the lineup doesn't have any pests like Arraez.

It's September. That's what happens in tight races. April/ May/ June? Not so much.

For sure but why not live and die by each game and hope they can sneak in the tournament? Do most of us truly believe it will happen? I'd say no but it's more fun to think they can!
