Some asinine deGrom takes in here. Coming off TJ at his age and is gonna make 30 starts with a 3 ERA and <1 WHIP.

Haven't won since Helman was benched and Adolis returned. This team showed a month of life when Bochy had to quit rolling the same washed veterans out there. Those replacements battled for 9 innings. They applied pressure, and they were just as good defensively. And they made the regulars better too.

Someone needs to be fired after this abomination of a series. Completely unacceptable
There's so much blame to throw around and 85% deserves to go on the bats. The pitching and those hitters gloves carried the water for the majority of the season and if they could situationally hit a lick they'd be playing in October. DeGrom was really good for the first part of the season and decent the rest. Frustrating part is he's given up almost 30 homers this year and today, the biggest must win of the season and he did it again.

Right now, he's a piece, not an anchor. Evo is obviously the ace, but Leiter is the #2 on this staff. They tried to protect deGrom, and largely did. I mean, he was hitting 100 tonight. But the slider was off, as was the fastball location. That HR to Altuve was just awful location. But the team's problems aren't his fault.
I just watched a guy who can't even run try to bat.

Definitely not the problem. I don't think they should trade him unless they can add another two quality players for his price. I think the 40 million is where expectations change.

There's so many things to fix I don't even know where they begin.
Props to the Rangers for getting me to hockey season. Blame falls on the high paid bats. Took the kids to even get close. A shame to waste such great starting pitching.

How fitting is it that we are starting Mahle tomorrow? I hope Bochy leaves him out there until his arm breaks in half. Awesome of him to dig deep and come back now that the pressure to win is off.

He's soft. He's not Verlander, Nolan Ryan, Clemens, or even Schilling. Big guys who maintained strength as they aged. DeGrom isn't built like that. He's a thin guy that will fall off like Lincecum. We've witnessed that this year.
It actually is not difficult for a guy that throws the way he does to develop a sinker.
I try not to focus too much on the fact that the Rangers were 0-4 once Garcia was back in the lineup, but I do it anyway.
Sure, he's good for a big hit now and then, but he is a black hole in this lineup and having him in there causes a ripple effect on 1-9.

It's sad that it has come so soon after the WS title, but there are several guys from the title team/dugout that don't need to wear a Rangers uniform again after a couple weeks.

Completely disagree with the soft assessment. This is the most inninings he has thrown since 2019. The clubs plan was to limit his pitch counts and innings. The 80-85 pitches limit was not his request but the club being over cautious .
