Well there's not being stellar defensively and then there's not competitive. The last two throws to second didn't even need to be made.

But the steal of third was Eovaldi not even paying attention. Just a weird situation.

Steals at this level are more times than not on pitchers. Catchers get rushed like crazy when your pitcher is a sloth to home plate.

Stinks. I have zero faith Corbin is even competitive tomorrow considering his last five seasons and only been at extended spring training. This was going to be a tough trip in two cold cities. Breaking even or even 2-4 won't be the worst.

Most of those guys have way too much history as good hitters to ignore. I doubt they'll ever go back to 2023 levels, but they aren't this bad over most of a season.

Well the only two games I haven't been able to watch a single pitch we've lost 14-3 and 7-0. Think the baseball gods are trying to tell me something. Flush this one like they've flushed the other 2 losses. Baseball isn't meant to be played in 34 degree weather.

After Semiens .237 in 24…. Im a little concerned. 25 mill is a lot to stomach for hanging out below the mendoza line.

Do I think we've seen the best of Marcus Semien? Yeah I do, but do I think he's as bad as he has been this year and last year? Probably not. I think Marcus is likely around a .250 hitter the rest of the way for the remainder of his career with the Rangers. I do think Bochy needs to get serious about tinkering with the lineup, though. Semien, Seager, Langord and Joc really hasn't worked at all. I would consider moving Langford to the leadoff spot as he seems to see the best/most pitches in the lineup right now, then I would got Seager, Jung, Joc, Semien in that order.

Having said that, I wouldn't hesitate to continue to give guys like Semien, Seager, and Joc days off until they get it going, and tbh I would think about getting Burger some days off as well because he also isn't doing anything. Just rotate the squad not only to keep guys healthy, but also so guys can have some pressure taken off of them.

I support this.

Personally, I think Josh Smith should get a shot at lead off. He just seems to be the spark on this team. Gets on base a lot and scores typically when he does. I'd like to see this line up.

I like that lineup a lot. Semien is just not doing what I would want to see out of a leadoff hitter either. Good player, but it seems like we have better options for leadoff.

My only issue with Smith in the leadoff spot is that I don't know if Bochy will have him as an every day set it and forget it player. I would love Smith in the leadoff spot and I personally love him as an every day guy, but im not sure Bochy does with Jung back in the lineup, and I think a lineup that stays the same as much as possible is the best lineup.

I feel like I heard on the pregame yesterday that they reported that Boch said that JS would be an everyday player somewhere. Guessing that means being the super-sub at a different position every day.

Maybe I misheard. Hopefully JS isn't too bothered by playing a different position daily. I'm sure it was more relaxing playing SS or 3B every day for stretches last year due to injuries.
