I don't think the Astros have much of a problem in comparison

We can get everyone regular starts, and we can have everyone batting in a playoff series at home

Red Sox lack a lot of power and they have a much higher need for Paredes than our need to trade Paredes

Dana shouldn't give in just to make a trade, we need to get a haul like we got from Tucker (overpay)

Actually, both teams need to switch offensive production to a different position, which is why a trade makes sense.

They can't play all of their outfielders and we can't play all of our infielders. Swap players and problem solved.

He had a rough stretch with us but his stats in total are comparable to anyone we'd trade for against righties

We can play all of ours, it just means Yordan plays more LF than we would like. We can play Correa, Pena, Altuve, and Walker as the regular IF, Paredes at DH, and Yordan at LF. When Walker or Correa need a day off, Paredes moves to 1B or 3B and Yordan plays DH. It is not ideal, but we are in a better position than a team with more than 3 OF they want in the lineup and should be negotiating from a position of strength.

Interesting move by TEX

That's a lot to give up for a pitcher with just 2 years control when it seems like they're more than 1 pitcher away from contending.

Gore is a good piece but doesn't really seem to fit their need.

Their roster construction is flawed. Too left handed. Too many OFers. Our roster. Instruction is flawed. Too right handed. Too many INFers.

Nope.

Not a good fielder. Doesn't play a position on need. We don't have room at DH. His offense is fun, but he's just a little above average.

If we trade Paredes and want a lefty platoon to get in at 1B and 2B occasionally, then I could see it. I think he can land a more significant role elsewhere.

Edit:

I wouldn't mind Nate Lowe in a similar role as the first bat off the bench and part-time 1B platoon. Again, this assumes we trade Paredes.

On a similar, but different note, Mike Tauchman could be a cheap option to add in the OF if we trade Sanchez.
