It's fine, Parades seems like he could be flexible shifting around different positions (1B, 3B, DH)....I would love it if he could even play LF at least at home, or even 2B because I seriously can't imagine he's worse than Altuve there.
With all those positions available, being an "everyday" starter isn't really an issue. What's a bigger issue is the egos of Pena, Correa, Walker that all magically expect to play 162 games without any sort of injuries or setbacks...rest days are important.
IMHO the absolute *worst* thing we can do is trade Parades just because of a perceived logjam and because he provides the most trade value. Of course he does. Question is, what do we get in return that can replace his offensive ability? Nothing on the market that I can see.
Sometimes the best decision is to do nothing at all. If the logjam is perceived as that big of a problem, there is somebody out there willing to take on Christian Walker for $8M/yr while we pay down $12M/year.
I really hope Dana doesn't get lost in the sunk cost fallacy here.
