Joey Gallo, righty pitcher, is beginning to throw for teams now. Been working out in Florida.

Who can the Astros trade to the Aggies for Sorrell ? I said when he was a freshman he's going to be a top 5 pick, and he's headed that direction. What a talent.

I am racking my brain on who we could be going after. Buying low on Lars Nootbaar? Betting on a Michael Harris II bounce back? Can we get enough for a Steven Kwan? My dream pick would be Kerry Carpenter.

New name popped up for me. Sal Frelick.
Brewers need a 3B after sending theirs to Boston
4 years of control
Lefty bat who semi broke out last year.
Plus defender who is versatile.
119 wRC+ vs RHP last season

The Astros cleared a bit over $6M by sending Jesus Sanchez to the Blue Jays for Joey Loperfido.

Reports said the Astros are interested in veteran catcher Christian Vazquez, who should make 5-6M this year.
Seems like a perfect fit.
Castellanos will be some combo of DH, 1B and OF for Padres. RF is booked obvs. Signed pending physical.

Vasquez and his .577 OPS over the last 3 years isn't what I'd call a huge upgrade over Salazar.

oh, Loperfido is back -- didn't see that one coming
and Sanchez is gone
kind of clouds Dana's trade deadline deals (or grades) of the past 2 years

There's really no reason to pay that much ($5-6m) for someone who is not going to produce. That money is better spent elsewhere

I'm glad you're not in charge.
Joey Loperfido: "I took a ton of pride in being a homegrown player and getting to play all through the minors with this team, get to debut and play in the major leagues with that team. I still take a lot of pride in being a homegrown Astro."
