MLB Pipeline recently released a set of predictions for every farm system heading into the 2026 season, and their outlook on the Houston Astros organization was notably optimistic.
While the Astros begin the year without a Top 100 prospect on Pipeline's rankings, something that has now happened three times in the last five seasons, the system still features plenty of intriguing talent.
Pipeline's bold prediction is that three Astros prospects will work their way onto the Top 100 list by the end of the 2026 season. The players they highlighted are:
- Kevin Alvarez
- Ethan Frey
- Xavier Neyens
Team USA closer Mason Miller is thought likely to be unavailable for the finals Tuesday @Ken_Rosenthal 1st mentioned @WBCBaseball

Shame Skubal is a little b*tch. Shouldn't have given him a roster spot if he's only willing to pitch once. Let someone who wants to compete for their country on the team.
And whys he in the dugout at all? Just to remind his teammates he quit?
Latin players are honored to play for their countries. Some USA players are but doesn't seem like all are.

J.P. France will start tomorrow for the Astros and Peter Lambert will start on Thursday. Lance McCullers is pitching today in Bradenton and Tatsuya Imai is throwing a sim game in West Palm.

I thought WBC rules did not allow relievers to go back to back?

Going from 0 to 3 with more early draft picks in a very long time = Astros next gen coming in ~2030? Hopefully, Daddy Crane can just spend his way into keeping the team in the postseason '26-'29 before the kids are old enough to carry.

Might we see Yusei Kikuchi vs. Tatsuya Imai in game two? https://t.co/k6nkByWBR2
