Don't see the point in doing it mid season unless there are vastly better options out there.

Would probably prefer to make moves in the offseason as well, unless you get some incredible trade deals but we should hold those chips until the deadline at minimum

Well thank goodness I was wrong. Imai did make it to the fourth inning while hitting two batters, walking another one and then giving up a grand slam.

Guess there won't be any scoreboard watching in September this season. Football season can't get here soon enough.

Decisions like these are why Joe is a LOW IQ manager.

Imai has struggled adjusting to the big leagues with known issues with control....has a solid few innings today.

Suddenly, the rails come off and Joe, the LOW IQ manager, wants to get greedy or try and have Imai work his way out of something that anyone could see would not end well.

Didn't matter either way because our offense is middling at best, but still that may have made the game a 6-2 loss instead of a 10-2 loss.

Mets brought up their 21-year-old top prospect AJ Ewing (no relation to Patrick, or JR). 4th round pick out of high school in 2023. Across 3 teams in 2025, he hit .315 in 485 at-bats with 10 triples and a whopping 70 stolen bases.

They started him in AA this year and he hit .349 with a 1.053 OPS in 18 games, stealing 12 bases.
Bumped him up to AAA Syracuse and he hit .326 with an .827 OPS so he got promoted and had 2 R, 2 RBI and a steal tonight.

Must be nice to have "top prospects" to bring up.

At this point, in this current situation, I'm not in favor of trading at the deadline if Dana Brown is still the GM. I don't know if Crane has plans to fire him or whether he's been looking at his replacement. I haven't seen any indications or reports that Crane is going to do anything in the next month or so. I'd rather keep what we have and let the (possible) new GM make the trades. This roster and our farm system is a complete disaster, so why would we want Dana making any trades? I would rather AI do the draft than let Dana make the picks.
