I've been watching playoff hockey instead. At least my Canes have a legit shot at the Cup.

Once that's over.. I don't know what I'll do with myself.

Watching this team is like seeing your old dog start to suffer and slowly realizing it's time to put it down.

I don't know what the hell I'm going to do when Survivor and The Boys end. Might have to consider actually exercising.

The only saving grace was watching Yordan rake. Now he's in the midst of a career-worst month. No rest for the weary.

Thankfully we've been in the middle of little league with the boys and haven't been able to watch most games.

Unfortunately tonight is championship night, and pending all stars, this is usually when we get fully invested again in the Astros each year. Woof.

Cmon, cheap tickets, I guess.

I'm hoping Aggie baseball has a long run into late June. Then after that… I guess I'll find out all about position battles for Aggie football and become too obsessed on who the backup tight end is or something

Honestly the only hope is for Crane to sell. He's reached Drayton Mcclane status now. More worried about turning a profit than winning. It's why he lets contracts run out instead of making changes and it's why he won't trade away any assets he has for the future.

It's a distant 2nd to rooting for a good Astros team, but there's always hate watching. **** the Yankees, Dodgers, Mariners, and especially the Arlingtons.

THAT, sir, is an apt analogy. I regret that I have but one blue star to give you.

Calling it now... he'll look like a Cy young contender, and K Yordan twice.

If Shewmake is in the lineup, he'll face his old teammate. Gig'em.

I must be a loyal Astro follower. I watched every pitch of last night's game knowing there was no way a comeback was possible. After the grand slam the offense just quit and looked like they didn't give a rat's a##.

Yup at this point, they're sort of like Aggie football has been for me since the UCLA debacle - hoping for a good game, good performances, or a something cool to happen. If they start getting routed, I reserve the right to watch Psych on Ion.

An Aggie has only homered off an Aggie once in MLB history when Chuck Knoblauch took Ryan Rupe deep.

An all time SNL legend - Derek Jeter in drag as Alfonso Soriano's wife sitting with the rest of the Yankee wives, including Amy Poehler as Chuck Knoblauch's wife. I won't ruin the cameos if you haven't seen it.

While that's commendable, the last sentence of your comment likely explains why some choose not to do the same, if they even have that luxury. Not to mention the front office has clearly lost its way and needs to figure it out soon.

I hadn't seen any updates on Ronel Blanco. Is he expected to return after the ASB?

Going back to the early 2010s. Man we had a fun decade, but this is gonna be tough. Just tuning in hoping Altuve picks up his pace

I've been watching a lot of Little League too. It's just been at Daikin Park.

I've seen Little League teams who threw strikes more consistently than the current iteration of the Astros...

Even more so now.

3 WS titles just sounds better

Also for symmetry

A million times this. But I try and tell myself that we never thought the Astros would win ONE title in our lifetimes, much less two.

Dana's handling of the MLB club has left a lot to be desired -- but it looks like he is coming through with stocking the farm a bit with what he's had to work with. He's had some misses for sure -- looking at you Janek -- but looks fairly decent.

This is sadly a perfect illustration. Which is why I hate to admit it, but I think a fire sale reset needs to happen. I would rather embrace the suck for a handful of years and try to position ourselves for another run than to go the Drayton McLane route from 2006-2010 and do various patch jobs trying to keep it all from ripping apart, thus setting the timeline back 5 years.

We are who we are, and I think we need to come to grips with that

I have also come to terms with a lost season. I tried to hold out hope for as long as possible, but a minus 44 run differential is really really bad.

The pitching is just too much to overcome, especially with injuries stacked on top

As Long as he doesn't go full Drayton. He was trading ML talent for Pennies on the $$ and gutting the MiL teams of talent as well. He got rid of anything and everyone that cost money. So much so that we had Brad Dolan and Dave Raymond announcing games as a cost cutting measure.

I never get bummed about '19 or '23 or '21 because I think of all the improbable games we shouldn't have won but did in '17 and '22.

If you turn the clock back to 2017, if Marwin doesn't hit the Game 2 ninth inning homer @ LA, we probably get swept in the World Series.

The 13-12 game, that's the kind of game Houston teams have been losing since time began. Down 4-0 and 7-4 and came to win a game in 10.

Yordan's Game 1 homer vs. Seattle in 2022.

Chas's catch in Game 5 at Philly.

Let's be real about it, luck has swung towards us way more than against us in the last 10 years.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting your post but let's not this recent downturn and the projected future guilt us into chalking up our run as good luck.

The Astros fielded some historically good teams and talent and I almost think it was bad luck that we only won 2 titles.
