If you want to rent, then throw out all decisions of the mix and just rent an apt. within a couple miles from work (why rent and drive more than a couple minutes?) During that year, scope out neighborhoods around town and then you'll know exactly where you are comfortable buying.

On another note, if these bills make it through the state house/senate, it will force Hickenloopers hand. He's been able to come across as a good moderate with the Republican majority. Either he signs them and the right vilifies him or he vetos them and he loses a lot of support on the left.

In all seriousness, I have never seen good Crawfish in this city. Sooner may be able to weigh in on this.

The only good crawfish I have had was at the house of a guy from Lousiana who had it flown in from there.

I went to cheeky monk and had PtY. I'll do a write up tomorrow, I'm tired.

That would be the suck IMO.

Why the highlands? Affordability? Location to downtown?

Highlands b/c it's a cool area with a lot of young professionals, proximity to downtown, bars and restaurants, etc. Any other places you'd recommend? I don't want to live in Lodo, but still want a younger dynamic. I'm in Denver quite a bit and that seems to be the best area for young, single professionals...

Wash Park, Cherry Creek, and DU area would be worth looking into.

Put me in the crowd that thinks Highlands is very overrated. I think most of the neighborhoods surrounding downtwon are nice, but Highlands is not one of my favorites. Granted, I have not spent much time in the Highlands, but it seems a bit run down and full of people that are trying too hard to be cool/hipsters. There are some good restaurants though.

i share prouds sentiments above.. but i've only been to highland area twice.
If you work south of town, I'd def. suggest living south of town.

Also could check stapleton. lots of new development very close to town and targeted towards young professionals.

Where in centennial do you work, that's a broad range.. as seen by this

If he is willing to live in Stapleton, I would recommend looking at DTC instead. It's a lot closer to Centennial, plenty of restaurants, and the night scene is very underrated.

Dtc is full of young professionals. It is where I lived when first moving to Denver.

Highlands in my opinion is way overrated. I have a good friend that lives downtown and he likes it. Downtown will be newer condos and prices the same as a rundown house in the highlands.

Stapleton would work and the wife and I recently looked out there. You are still a haul from centennial.

DTC is where I would focus my search
