Todays drop was enough for me to buy in

Simply consider: Roku is worth less today than it was worth before the pandemic. Yet, relative to its pre-pandemic levels, Roku has 60% more users, 145% more revenues and 13X the EBITDA.

I hope you got in at the open! Nice little discount on your long-term hold!
Don't most TV's use a 3rd party interface (like Roku, Google, Android, etc) to accomplish this? Or are their actually TV manufacturers that have their own built-in interface? There are a lot of TV's out there now that use the Roku interface built-in.Foamcows said:
still trying to figure out the value of this product... they do something that most tvs do already, provide a forum to run streaming apps... feels a bit like tivo did back in the day... was great because they were first and had a nice interface, but eventually the market caught up.
dont buy it, I read this thread a month or so back and thought it sounded good. Should have trusted my gut.Foamcows said:

This. Every TV, game console, etc that has been touted as a Roku/Apple TV equivalent eventually slows to be unusable and weren't that great to begin with. My biggest concern with Roku stock is that they have hinted on pivoting away from the player segment. But I see the success of of everything else tied to the branding recognition that comes with the players. I would have never watched the Roku channel without being an avid Roku player guy.. there's just too many Netflix lites coming onAggie71013 said:
My experience has been my TV outlasts the lifespan of the processor on it. TV OS apps are slow or not supported by the time the TV actually dies. Having an external box allows me to replace that for $50 to $100 instead of replacing a perfectly good $1k TV.

Roku has the slickest user interface and it's not even close.
