Here is stark reality - there are 361 Division 1 schools - in the last 24 years - 8 coaches have had control over the league by winning the NC..........41.6% were won by Geno(10).......16.6% by Kim(4)........Dawn has 12.5%(3)............Pat and Muffet have 8.2%(2ea)..........Brenda , Gary and Tara have 1 each

Geno(1985 to present), Dawn(2008 to present), Kim(Baylor 2000-2015- LSU 2016 to present) and Brenda Frese (2002 to present) are the only active coaches who have a NC. This shows there is no easy way to a championship...but it does show stability is one of the main ingredients of success.

Each year we start with 64 teams and play until we have winner. The above 8 coaches have brought home the winner for the last 24 years and of that only 4 are active today.

Remember someone close to N'dea Jones talking on here how she was offered by Georgia in 9th grade by Andy Landers and was set on going there since she lived less than an hour away. Then when Joni Taylor took the job she rescinded the offer and cut all off communication with N'dea Jones through the recruitment process. Then Gary Blair convinced her to come to Texas A&M where she became an All American, WNBA second round pick, Aggie leader in rebounds… She had an all American down the road from her and refused to recruit her… she can't recruit

This is why the 2 recruits she signed for 2025 don't make since based on her recruiting history. We will see what happens.

What's stupid is that some coaches believe that this or that person isn't worth spending their time and effort on because their minds are made up. Gradey Dick whose Dad and brothers went to KU almost went to Baylor of all places because an assistant there got on him early and stayed the course. I just don't know why a coach won't even send a letter to a prospective recruit and follow up with a meet and greet at an AAU tournament. Is that too much to expect ?
