Boomers have never created a problem they couldn't blame on millennials

I genuinely still don't know what the apology was for and what he is losing sponsors for. Is it for saying that the Saudis are scary MFers? Is that the "offensive" line?

Sponsors dropping him is joke. He'd been better off punching his wife in the face than opening his mouth I guess.
And I totally agree with posters above about him getting hung out to dry. All those guys got cold feet and left him hanging and 30 years of kissing babies and giving thumbs up went down the drain.

This explains the fall series better than I understood it a few days ago
Looks like the top players are getting exactly what they want
I think its clear from his statement that he isn't apologizing and doesn't feel bad about anything. Maybe thats the point.watty said:
I've posted a couple times now, basically saying I'm not sure exactly what Phil is apologizing for. Let me clarify my own question by saying that I totally understand why everyone is mad at him and I understand what he should be making a statement for. What I'm saying is that when I read his statement, I can't tell exactly what he is feeling bad about. Does that make sense? Is he apologizing for using insensitive words about the Saudis? Is he apologizing for saying harsh things about the PGA tour? That's what I'm having trouble understanding, is his own mindset in all of this right now. To me, the apology seems really long-winded and really vague and I'm not sure what it is he is apologizing for. And I'm not sure which angle of all this is the angle that is making sponsors drop him.

Anyone complaining about saudis but completely overlooking nike being basically everywhere while being tied at the hip to a brutal and repressive China is completely full of ***** That article is ridiculous and reads like someone who has a personal vendetta against Phil
I haven't heard any of the golf media presently nor previously denounce China and its human rights violations when they hosted the WGC events for all those years. Yeah, the Saudis are awful, but why have they remained silent in criticizing that regime? Very selective with their criticism.Bunk Moreland said:Sea Speed said:

There's a difference in having your shirts and hats sponsored by an apparel brand that does business in China, and the equivalent of taking hundreds of millions of dollars directly from Xi's personal private company.
And I'm as anti-China as they come and hate the hypocrisy and silence of companies like Nike/Apple/NBA, etc.

Everyone knows that. It's like everyone who is young in the workforce is a millennial.

You'd be just as agitated if you're managing these young punks...
So Phil Mickelson is in trouble for saying out loud he was willing to negotiate with a country with human rights issues, despite the fact that many athletes and leagues do the exact same thing, but keep it quiet?

In other words, Mickelson’s in trouble for saying the quiet part out loud. Nike, the NBA, Apple, all of them do the same thing with China that Phil was considering doing with Saudi Arabia. They just keep quiet about it and rely on idiots not to notice.
