Interesting timing on Phil's leave of absence. He always seems to front run trouble.

I've never really understood Norman's hate for the PGA tour. Seems like he was operating with a vendetta

Goes back a long time to when he wanted to start a "world tour" of the best players playing big venues for big money. He was rebuffed at a meeting when Arnold Palmer basically said we have to stick with the PGAT and stay loyal, not play some other tour. Ever since then he's had an axe to grind.
And a lot of this could have been avoided if Monahan had spoken with Saudis too. He should share some blame in this mess, not just Norman/LIV IMO.

It will be a win for the PGA Tour however the events unfold regarding LIV potentially shutting down
If LIV shuts down how long does it take Dustin Johnson to find out?

Imagine the advantage LIV guys would have at Zurich?

In hindsight, one of the best things Monaghan did was come to an understanding with the pif without settling on anything. That allowed the pga to wait out LIV and watch it wither.

This. Intentional or not, it was genius. The PGAT bought time to circle the wagons on players and sponsors to slow/stop the onslaught, and then just let LIV bleed out until the Saudis tired of burning cash

I'm curious if Rahm had some insight and therefore wasn't worried about the demands from the R&A to be Ryder Cup eligible.

That doesn't make the fines go away, right? Isn't that the issue?

Most of the LIV players bring very little value for the PGA Tour. Sergio should be banned from golf forever. The few top players on LIV will be reinstated on the PGA Tour with significant financial contributions before becoming eligible to play.

I don't know what else the CEO is going to say, but I feel like when there's this much smoke there's almost always fire.

- This is not being characterized internally as a funding cutoff, but rather a transition. LIV Golf is funded through the end of the year and they were given two choices:
