Honestly I'm glad I went but most of them were not the best vintages . La Tache and Grands Ech stood out for me.

The star was the 2014 Schwarzreisiling. Earthy. Cherry. Smooth.

Their white truffle risotto in brown butter will forever be my favorite dish of all time. We're going to Next (one of his other restaurants) in a few weeks for the second time. Interestingly, the first time we were there the theme was Alinea's 10 Year Annivesary. The black truffle explosion was one bite, and it was incredible. I'll call that the best singular bite of food I've ever had.

Loved Alinea. It's a unique experiences that embraces flavor and intrigue and stimulation.

Last month I went Lasarte in Barcelona. Also three stars. And Alinea was such a better experience. Not even close. Aramburu in Buenos Aires was still the best I've ever had though.

Haven't been to Alinea but it doesn't seem to be my thing. My wife and I did have one of our most fun starred meals next door at Boka. Had a great server that night who made it a blast and was awesome with wine pairings and a requested wine substitution.

I'd like it more if I didn't have to contend with Sammie's wine markup, but we got a F&F discount because our friend that we went with is good friends with the somm there.
