The 20 was pretty epic. At the end of the night, the somm told me that was his wine of the night in the entire restaurant (the sample tastes everything). I would definitely seek this out again.

you probably know this, but a few are around Houston market if interested

Dinner in St George, Utah tonight at the Painted Pony. The 12 Pott Arsenal Greer paired perfectly with the Bison filet and the venison chops!

Awesome. How was the mouton? Worth the price of admission?

Yes. Lafite was prob overall #1, but Mouton excelled with the steak.

There was one vote for Latour as overall #1 as well.

Lurker on this thread and way out of my depth with some of yall on here on wine, but last night I got to go to a wine dinner at Credence in Houston. Jack Mason was the som doing the dinner. Jack is actually from College Station and was the 2nd youngest master som ever. Great guy. Here's what we drank. Each course was a US vs France pairing. The Dunn cab was the standout but everything was awesome.

I gotta say…. It was amazing. I can't get enough of Lafite. IMO, that is the top of the mountain. That and Maya are my all time favs.

Spending a little time with Croatian wines this weekend. The Dingac was nice and approachable. I really wish we got more Plavac Mali in the US. The posip was good as well. Middle of the fairway for a European white from a coastal region.

Those are cool bottles to pull. Did you bring them back from Croatia or did you buy them in the states?

The Dingac was on the list at Squable, and the posip was one I brought back from Croatia last year.

My sons 17th bday seemed like a good excuse to open this one. First time trying TOR. I dont take notes, but I will remember this one as one of my all time favorites. I let it breath in the bottle for a while, it wasn't quite ready at 90 minutes, but by 2.5 hours it was sensational.

I enjoy most of the wines that Tor makes, he's got great depth in his fruit, but they are also usually very well balanced.

Hey, totally forgot about this, sorry. Let me ping my source on availability still, but a handful of each Liger 2020 offering were in market.

EDIT: Update - looks like what was available is pretty much gone, but checking on any stragglers.

Agreed. I used to drink a lot of those back in the day. And they were like $22-25 back then so this is a good price.

Maybe my kids can join one of these get togethers in the future when my name finally is at the top of the Macdonald waitlist.

10 and 11 were the standouts for me.

Agreed. 10 and 11 were very nice.

The other two bottles in there were also from MacDonald grapes: 2020 Salty Goats and 1996 Mondavi 30th Anniversary, both courtesy of WestU.

So I missed the MacDonald dinner but I am in Germany France.

Any Alsace recommendations??

I can't recall specific producer but can highly recommend the food of the region. Choucroute and gewrztraminer is one of my favorite food and wine pairings. Authentic tarte flamb is also worth seeking out.

I'm a big Albert Boxler fan. Marcel Deiss another good one. Both make a variety of whites from the region.
