After checking some other wines, it's more like a 2x-3x markup there. They have Vietti Arneis on their list for $75, and I can buy it for $21. I checked another one that was closer to 2.2x. Guess it just depends on what it is. Twice retail markup I can live with, as I understand a restaurant has to pay for acquisition, storage, breakage, labor, etc. Three times retail markup is getting a little ridiculous to me.

Opened up an Alexander valley cab from Kokomo tonight. Not a heavy hitter like a lot of the stuff posted lately… but a quality wine that hits above its weight class, in my opinion. Lot of that green bell pepper on the nose and a nice mix of red and black fruit on the palate. Silky tannins and super approachable.

so I guess they are still BYOB?

Ate there a few years ago before the James Beard and Michelin stuff and took wine but wasn't sure if they still had that policy or not.

First 2 pics are of an Oregon Pinot that was nice. Love the label and the back label info as well. I've heard good things of their single vineyard stuff, this was a larger blend.

The last pic is of a domestic Sangiovese that we had at dinner last night. The wine was singing and well developed. Would definitely seek it out again. The restaurant bottle price was very approachable too.

Related side note, if you're on a wine country trip to Sonoma, then Stella up in the Glen Ellen/Kenwood area is a superb restaurant experience.

Prepping for the a&$ kicking we are about to give horns on Friday. 13 Dujac charmes chambertin at chez noir in Carmel by the sea. Killer nose, wine still young….has a lot of life ahead of it.

We have one somewhere but have never used it. My wife is good at polishing off bottles! Seriously, if I can find it I'll post here and send it your way.

This is us. I bought one, but between cutting out weekday drinking and wineries switching to synthetic corks, ours doesn't get much use at all. I used it for maybe the second time ever last weekend to pour a couple of glasses of Tokaji that we've had in the fridge.

This is a very good Chardonnay from DDO. It has good acidity and minerality that I typically don't associate with new world chard.
