Shot my shot and missed (badly) and have said as much on this thread, it's quite amazing how good he's been in the NBA
He was patient. He played his role and then slowly expanded into what he is today.

We have had several players who through talent and work made an impression in the Association. I didn't expect Alex to have the impact he has had, but it's fun to watch!
Nobody ever gave Caruso enough credit for being a smart player. His basketball IQ has always been head and shoulders above the rest. He had all the intangibles and just needed to continue to develop his game.

I think a lot of people underestimated his work ethic, as there are a lot of people who are great athletes but are lazy and dont develop that talent.

Yes, that clip is an example of an offensive foul… it is ALSO an example of flopping. He definitely wasn't hit that hard. Bro looks like he just got trucked by Jerome Bettis. Caruso is a good player, but he's making it really hard not to hate him. I want to like him because he is an Ag, but dude. That whole damn team is full of floppers, it's how the coach runs the team, so I can't blame Caruso too much, but it's getting REALLY tired.

Hey, I'm here for both. I've loved watching Caruso become a standout player and the leader of this OKC team. I'm rooting for him.

As long as illegal contact happened- it's just smart basketball to to make it more noticeable. Caruso is the epitome of smart basketball.
Faking contact (where illegal contact didn't happen)- that's different. But that clip isn't an example of that.
There's nobody more fun to watch imo because the wheels are always turning in his head about making the most intelligent play out there possible.. From when he should shoot, or pass to a guy in an advantageous spot, to even EXACTLY where he should stand on the court given what is happening (offense or defense), to keeping his feet moving in passing lanes so he's ready to pounce, etc.... Everything he does is calculated.

Maybe we're seeing a different play but it's not charging to me. He didn't take a shoulder, Castle eased up right before the collision. It should have been a non-call--playoff basketball collision. AC saw that Castle was setting a pick and he tried to get in position before Castle. A stagger I can see but to completely fall backwards, I call bull***** Funny how Newton's 3rd law doesn't really affect Castle but it does on AC.
Dropping your shoulder a la SGA every time he touches the ball should be an offensive foul, but it isn't. Easy call, right?
I say to combat these shoulder/chest dips, the NBA should bring back hand checking that way no one gets a call.
