I really wonder about the psychological makeup of some posters when I see a post like the above. Running to the internet to bump some old thread on some fan board to start an argument.

Re Caruso, it is just the morning after and I got the impression he might have some summer league invites vs. D-league vs. other opportunities to consider. See his interview just yesterday morning on what his thought process was. Just because he didn't immediately sign somewhere as a free agent right after the draft concluded as House did doesn't mean he didn't get some phone calls and is weighing some options.

But to any poster is really motivated to argue on TexAgs immediatley this morning about being 'right' about something so important as whether Caruso ever plays a minute in an NBA uniform, carry on...

While the tone leaves much to be desired-- he is right. Also, the original post in this thread pretty much asked for this.

Caruso does not have the shooting or ball skills to be a NBA player, it is simple as that. Yet people want to over-think this and somehow think a guard with an average handle, shooting an average percentage (only shooting when wide open from perimeter) is going to play in the league.

He will still make $ somewhere. Guards like LGM can earn a paycheck (although Morales is a better shooter, but I digress), Caruso can too. I agree that NBDL would be a waste of time though. He should go immediately where he can make the most money.

There is a 100% chance that Caruso will sign a free agent contract with a NBA franchise and be playing in one of the summer leagues in July. 100%. Whether he is able to make a roster will be up to how he plays and the slots available. His agency is very likelycombing through rosters now to see which franchise looking to sign him has the best opportunity in terms of actually making the roster.
Deals like the ones being reported for House, Payton, and Wiltjer are very uncommon, especially within the first few hours of the draft. The fact that Caruso hasn't signed with a team by noon today means about the same as Knox's drivel.

If he improves his shooting a bit, kid could easily be on a roster in Europe. And maybe even a decent club at that.

Great B-ball IQ, good handles and passing skills. Very good at forcing turnovers. Just needs to cut back on the poor giveaways he was prone to this past season.

His shooting improved marginally in 4 years. Don't think going to Europe would help his shot all that much. Some guys just aren't shooters at all.

IMO Caruso is better off as a free agent than a 2nd rounder without a guaranteed contract, anyway...maybe summer league to snag a good contract. Is there a EuroLeague team in Switzerland? They should remain solvent.
