I've been told by some big Aggie cigars that money is no object. Let's see if we throw a bunch of NIL towards basketball this off season. I doubt it because I don't agree with the assessment of our NIL situation. Jimbo cash still a hindrance.

lol we literally fired Kennedy for only making two sweet 16s before hiring Buzz. My lord we'd all be going nuts for Buzz if he was doing Kennedy things.
He's not. And games like we've lost the last three years the first weekend are his ceiling given his caveman views of offense. Dude still thinks we are playing on peach baskets.
All of our coaches need to go save for track, softball and tennis.

It would be one thing if this team had a good to great offense, and we just got beat by the better team.
This team has had a HORRENDOUS offense Buzz's entire tenure. I have never watched us and thought we looked like a good team.
We have a few very good players, and we play very hard. No one doubts that. Its up to you if that is good enough.
And you arent going to recruit great players/shooters with Buzz's very outspoken current offensive philosophy.
You can get great players to join a team that is always going to play hard, lock in on defense...but no one is going to go to a team that will give them no real shot at making the NBA

Well it's well known that A&M is not a football school or a basketball school or a baseball school. Maybe equestrian will bounce back. Worst sports program in the country given the massive resources. Embarrassing and pathetic: Never seen anything like it. Totally embarrassing:
3 tourney teams in a row is not that typical here. We'd be nucking futs to run Buzz off imo. Based on pure coaching acumen I'd give BCG a slight edge but as far as program viability and direction and character I'd give the edge to Buzz. Turgeon was a whiny one . Kennedy had character but he also had a major health issue that had us hog tied imo.
go watch Texas Tech basketball and you'll see a great coach and a great program. it's a joke that we cant even be anywhere close to that good and consistent.

If you go by results even BK was better hell I thought it was a great hire but this type of ugly ball sucks.
We can be slightly above average for something that's a lot easier to watch than the brick building buzz employs

It's so ridiculous. Buzz is 15th in D1 in compensation. There's a dozen coaches easy making less with more ncaa wins the last four years. Start making calls at the top of that list and work your way down.
Tired of thank you notes and not making it out of the first weekend while the 'we used to kiss after first downs' crowd continue to defend team thank you note.

Buzz is too formulaic in his approach to games. We came out in the second half with a lead and Taylor, who was invisible in the first half, was playing with an edge…getting to the rim and to the line. Two minutes in he heads to the bench. The fact that Phelps did next to nothing the entire game, you just have to say wtf.

Kennedy had 2 in his last 4 years.
Buzz played the business side of the game very well. Cashing in big time after than single Sweet 16 in the last 12 years.
Buzz is a great coach, but in a lot of ways he's a Mike Leach type. He's unquestionably better than Billy Kennedy.
I don't think there's any way we fire buzz but I think the writing is clearly on the wall he's not coming back. He's got 2 players returning at most, no recruits to speak of and anytime there's tons of talk about a guy leaving there usually a reason. I don't think it will surprise anyone if he isn't coaching at all next year. I think the whole wade taylor rushed jersey retirement was another huge sign. I think 1) he wanted to be there for it and knows he won't be here after this year 2) I think he knew if he didn't do it wade probably wouldn't get his jersey retired. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it and I'm really happy for him but I'm not sure he met the pre established standards for it. I wish he could have gotten a better ceremony instead of buzz on the mike telling everyone to hurry and leave. All they had to do was have their marketing people post it on Twitter and texags at halftime and everyone would have stayed to cheer for wade. That's the frustrating thing about Buzz. He is so locked into his team he cares about nothing else. He doesn't consider the university and fans part of the "team". We're just a distraction which is a shame.
As far as where he ranks as coach that's tough. Watching us now vs with Kennedy I feel like we're allot better. The results say differently though.
I think buzz falls into the trap of wanting guys who are like him. He was a manager. He never played so to get to where he is at it took a tremendous level of hard work and squeezing out every bit of talent he had. I think those are the guys he wants on his team. The problem is when you run into talent that plays just as hard it usually doesn't end well.
All in all I like 85% of what buzz does but the other 15% drives me nuts. I think he's about the best we can hope for for this program but I'd be completely shocked if he's here next year.
