We're not going to fire him, but I think most people will be somewhere between indifferent and mildly happy if he leaves. We've had a "solid" team the past 3 seasons and there's no guarantee that a replacement will do any better (and very well could be much worse), but you kinda know what you are getting at this point. Are you okay with being decent with a pretty defined ceiling due to the style of play, or would you like to risk being worse to have a chance to open up that ceiling a bit? For me, even if the outcome ultimately remains the same, I would like to see something that's at least more fun to watch.
His style didn't match Kentucky 5 stars and he didn't play politic game there and also had drinking problem - his perfect fit was a place like a&m.
It's frustrating how Buzz Williams failed to make even one Sweet 16 in his 6-year tenure. In contrast, Buzz's predecessor Billy Kennedy made 2 Sweet 16 appearances in 2016 and 2018 before going 14-18 (6-12 SEC) in his 8th and final year in 2018-2019.
I don't get why people act like the Sweet 16 is the end all be all. Yes, BK got us there twice. He also missed the tournament in six of the eight seasons he coached here…he also left the program in a worse position than it was in when he arrived or when Turgeon arrived. I'd prefer sustained success with numerous tournament appearances than long periods of sucking and then a couple spike years that are clear outliers. Buzz has a better winning percentage, more wins over big teams, and coaches in a far better conference than any of his predecessors.Ags #1 said:

Kennedy also missed the tournament six out of eight years that he coached here. He had a losing record in conference play five times. One of the years he got us to the Sweet 16, he was gifted a matchup with 11 seed Northern Iowa. Buzz played the business side of the game very well. Cashing in big time after than single Sweet 16 in the last 12 years.
Kevin Sumlin and Jimbo Fisher led A&M to more top five finishes, they were better A&M coaches than RC Slocum or Jackie Sherrill, right?

Why are you just deleting the 2006-2019 years?
Buzz isn't going anywhere. He's taken the team to two SEC tournament finals, 2nd in SEC conference twice, NIT final, and three NCAA tournaments. Yeah, he hasn't gotten a trophy, but he has produced winning and respectable teams. I think he'll get us an SEC Championship and sweet 16 or Elite 8. We're not getting anyone better.

There are only 16 SEC jobs. We will pay a top 10 salary and will fully fund basketball post-House settlement.
