This staff seems to be working their butts off. Jmo, we're not going to get proven superstars at this stage of the game/process but they seem to be putting together a team that can be competitive. I am excited and impressed. . Only time will tell how it all fits together.

How many of them have been all conference players or are expected to be high NBA draft picks?

When's the last time the Ags had a superstar?
If Bucky manages to put out a "good" (or even not bad) team next year, I'd consider that a success. Buzz left us in a terrible spot.

If we can add Griffen then I'm going to be somewhat optimistic we can make a run at the tournament next season. That would be a pretty impressive haul considering all of the context.
I wonder if we could get some kind of "program reset" exemption to the overseas tour rules. I don't think we're allowed to have one until summer '27 but maybe there's an exception if your entire program turns over. A couple of extra weeks of practice would be nice.

Griffen would make three players who have averaged double figures in a major conference not including Miles (9.4). Add a proven shot blocker in Federiko, and a veteran point in Lane. There's definitely more firepower across the roster than last year.

I like that we have some options. This is exactly the kind of roster I was hoping for with this style of play.
This is going to be the first time we've had more than two scoring threats at guard in a hot minute.
Now whether that translates to wins who knows, but we haven't had any backcourt depth at all in forever.

I said it in the Federiko thread, but probably should have put it here. Add a guy like Griffen to this roster and I'll really like where we are at, especially compared to where I thought we would be.

We still could be a bad team. All new guys with only 1 having experience in the system. But I think we will be middle of the pack SEC worst case.

Superstars get their teams to the sweet 16 at least once once in their career. He's a solid guy but acting like he's an ncaa superstar isn't a serious convo.
Taylor was definitely a "star," I guess you could argue whether or not he was a "superstar," but if he's not then we've only ever had one.
Getting to the sweet 16 isnt a valid criteria even for superstars. Some players who won Naismith and Wooden awards have not made the sweet 16

Taylor is the reason we didn't beat Houston in 2024. He was one of several reasons we didn't beat Michigan in 2025.
To his credit, he was probably the reason we made it to the tourney in 2023 and 2024

No, that is not the definition of a superstar college basketball player. Was Shaq considered a superstar in college? He was. He never made it past the second round, and I am sure there are many similar examples. I prefer Griffen, but I am far from an expert on the subject. I like that Griffen played in Oats system and is a more prolific 3pt shooter

I like Griffen a lot, but even if I didnt Im not going to be upset to lose someone who keeps leaving when teams sign other players.
