Other than proximity to home, I have no idea why he wants that job.

Probably because they are amenable to let him groom his kid to eventually take over when he retires.

Jeff Capel and Jamie Dixon, though Dixon is probably safe.

Capel and Moser for sure. Forbes at Wake is surely done too I would think.

Tang's buyout is $18m apparently. I doubt he gets let go even though he should.

Autry at Cuse and English at Providence probably also done.

Everyone in the Ed Cooley "trade" is going to emerge a loser it would seem.

Dana Altman and Bobby Hurley should be fired.

Oregon job coming open would be interesting

Hurley is a good callout. He knows he is done too based on recent interviews.

Do we think they'd fire Altman or do we think he'll retire?

Tang has a pretty massive buyout I read.

Edit: Maybe I read it on this thread lol. Someone already brought that up.

I think retire. Has an overall good legacy at that program and is well respected in the coaching ranks. Think it will be worded as a "both parties agreed the time was right" situation.

Would be a coveted job. History of Final Four and second weekend runs plus Nike money and one of the best basketball conferences historically sans no championships since 2000.

The only jobs, besides the ones already named here, that I see opening up would be due to a surprising retirement at a premier program. Mark Few at Gonzaga and Bill Self are the 2 that immediately come to mind.

Few because he seems like one to pull a Jay Wright or Tony Bennett and retire without any rumblings. Self because of all the health scares he's had in the last 3 or so seasons.

Also, throw Izzo in that mix as well. He's been the loudest opponent of the recent changes.

Yeah I can see Wes Miller being gone. Hubert feels like a Matt Doherty situation but there's not a Roy Williams level guy that UNC would be fired up to get. When Miller was at UNC Greensboro there was talk about him potentially being the guy down the road but he's been a flameout at Cincy.

Think he gets another season. Men's basketball is a clear 4th sport at LSU.

Lamont Paris is an interesting case. His second season came out of nowhere, and has sucked otherwise.

Glynn Cyprien officially took over for Gillispie this past weekend, who has missed a couple of weeks now. I'd say BCG's coaching career has officially ended.

I would be surprised if LSU didn't make a move. I thought they would last year and thought they were dumb not to at the time. Miller also definitely gone at Cincy as y'all noted.

Cronin won't get fired at UCLA due to buyout, but I think he also has a decent sized buyout if he leaves. They may negotiate that and agree to part ways. Feels like multiple years where they should be better than they are and he seems miserable.

The graphic above is a pretty solid encapsulation of things as they stand. Only thing is I'd probably put Penny at Memphis on a hotter seat.

Tang should be fired for wearing the ugliest uni combo ever today.

They'll need him to hang around and catch the flack when Kiffin starts illegally recruiting and portal tampering

I live in Raleigh and UNC is my second team. Should also say that, like just about everyone here, I'm a Hubert Davis fan. But, 2 weeks ago, after their losses out west to Stanford and Cal, it seened almost inevitable that he would be let go and UNC would "go outside the family" for their next coach. But, I suspect the two wins this past week at UVA and GA Tech have substantially cooled the waters (and his coaching seat). I watched some of UNC's game with GA Tech yesterday. While I don't have your expertise, they looked better (crisper passing, etc). Bogavac may also finally be getting comfortable with the US college game. It will be interestibg to see how UNC fares against Duke in their home and away this year. Time will tell.

Looks like Will Turgeon is currently a Graduate Manager at the University of Colorado. Nice that he'll get to join his dad in Kansas City.
