Conventional wisdom is that Miss St is a Top 20 team and Ole Miss is like Kentucky. My numbers show those 2 teams are about dead even. Let's see how those 2 teams do during the second half of this season. And who wins the egg bowl.

Mullen is undefeated in the Egg Bowl (3-0) and MSU has outscored the Ole Miss Black Bears (hehe) 103-53 in those games.

Ole Miss is a much better team than they were last year and it's in Oxford, so I think this will be a close game.

I will pull for MSU but this will be much closer than the "experts" predict.

Ole Miss can win this game.

No question.

This is the most ill-informed post I have ever seen. Mississippi finishes off their schedule at Arkansas, at Georgia, Vandy at home, at LSU, and MSU at home. The only game they have a chance of winning is Vandy...and Vandy will win that game. Mississippi will finish 4-8. I guess you don't want to believe that Dan Mullen could possibly build a solid program at little old Mississippi State, but he has. We have a damn good team. But I hope that many of our opponents have this view of our team, b/c we will feed off of the disrespect and steamroll your candy arse. Bring it dumbasses.

I agree with OP. I've watched both teams play a few times and they are about even. MSST has played weak competition so far but they are about to get their big 3 game stretch.

I think Bama rolls MSU this weekend. I'm looking forward to the game in Starkville in 2 weeks.

The upcoming four game stretch is going to be a real ***** for MSU.

I think MSU will go 3-2 in these last 5 games and end up 10-2 for the regular season. We'll lose to Bama and to either LSU or A&M.

Go Dawgs!

While you Ags are smelling your own farts and thnking how awesome you are...remember that you have played 2 teams that play Defense, and you lost both of them at your own house. You are going to be playing a pissed off team on the road...and we play Defense...so take that for what it is worth...good luck...I think it will be a good game...I think we win at home.

Y'all aren't even in the top 100 in RPI.. it's pretty easy to play good defense against teams like Troy, Auburn, Jackson State, South Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Middle Tennessee........

State plays good defense but they aren't in the Bama/LSU/UF/UGA tier. You need a lot of 4 and 5 star speed demons and monsters on the DLine to be in that group. State has a very good defensive backfield and a solid front 7 but not elite. State is going to struggle stopping the A&M O and Manziel, A&M's OL is in Bama's class and Bama worked State at the LOS.

I do think State will score points and their offense is effective but I don't know if it will be enough. A&M's D has been very solid all year outside of one half against La Tech when they were undermanned and gassed.

As for Ole Miss/State it is hard to say. Ole Miss is playing well and gaining momentum. State is about to hit the meat of their schedule and started off rough. I could see that game going either way and since it is in Oxford and Ole Miss is hungry that's going to be tough. This isn't Houston Nutt's Ole Miss teams. I'll be rooting for State but that's a tough game.

Troy is #26 in Total Offense, Tennessee is #29, Middle Tenn is #50...I'll give you Kentucky, South Alabama, JSU, and Auburn...but we've faced good Offenses, we held Tyler Bray in check and their 2 NFL WR's...Tennessee's O-Line is as good or better than A&M's...so get your facts straight...we can have a pissing contest about it...or you can just be over-confident, roll into Starkville, and we'll show you

Tennessee has 2 first rounders on the o-line? I think YOU need to get your facts straight.

Btw, comparing our offense to Troy, MTSU or Tenn is a complete ****ing joke. They don't have NEAR the firepower on offense as a whole that we do, and you'll see that Saturday morning.

I'm the OP and I'm lol at U! Looks like you are the person who is ill-informed. Ole miss won at Arkansas and will win again. Both teams are about the same, which is to say average by SEC standards.

Tennessee has 4 O-Lineman that project to be early draft picks (Dallas Thomas, JaWuan James, Zach Fulton, and James Stone)...Tennessee has more firepower than A&M does on Offense, they have just played a tougher schedule than A&M...look at who they have lost to...Tyler Bray will go high at QB...and Cordarelle Patterson and Justin Hunter will be early draft picks as well at WR...clueless you are

Yep, I predicted we would lose to Bama. The lopsided score doesn't phase me. I don't see the Tide losing a game this year.

A&M has lost to two top-5 caliber teams by a combined 8 points and put up the most yards either team has given up all year. MSU lost to the only top-50 they've played by 31 points in a game that was over early in the second quarter.

As for your defense, you've faced TWO offenses in the top 40 nationall and gave up 580 yards to Troy and that WITH them turning the ball over four times. How the **** do you give up nearly 600 yards when the other team has four turnovers? It's nearly impossible.

You also gave up 450 to Tennessee and 420 to Bama. Our offense is the best you'll see all year, and I see no reason why we shouldnt put up 500+ yards on you based on precedent. Your team has feasted on one of the worst schedules in the country (for reference, twelve mid-major schools have played tougher schedules) and they are coming back down to earth. MSU could EASILY end up a four loss team.

quote:
Tennessee has 4 O-Lineman that project to be early draft picks

A&M has three linemen projected to go in the top 40, two in the top 8. Our other two arent eligible but are both rated in the top 10 nationally among non-draft eligible linemen.

A&M has the second best line in the country.

You couldn't be more of a ****ing idiot if you really think Tennessee has a better offense than us. Seriously, you're a moron of the highest order. It's not even debatable.

You are just ignorant to the facts...let me help you out:

Tennessee is ranked #29 in Total Offense, they are 3-5, have played the #5 toughest schedule thus far, those 5 losses are to the following:

Alabama (#1 in Total Defense, #1 BCS)
Florida (#6 in Total Defense, #7 BCS)
South Carolina (#13 in Total Defense, #8 BCS)
Miss State (#28 in Total Defense, #15 BCS)
Georgia (#38 in Total Defense, #6 BCS)

You are a completely ignorant. They have gone through a brutal gauntlet and still are ranked #29 in Total Offense.

South Car St. N/A
Louisiana Tech #118 Total D
Auburn #95 Total D
Arkansas #86 Total D
SMU #63 Total D
Mississippi #47 Total D

That is why your stats are padded. You have played 2 teams that play Defense, and you lost both games at HOME.

Let me help you out.

Johnny Manziel is the SEC's leading rusher and is 3rd in passing (only 66 yards behind Bray despite having 18 less attempts which Manziel averages 8.2 yards/attempt).

Mike Evans has more receiving yards (47 catches for 705 yards) than Justin Hunter (47 catches for 657 yards). Ryan Swope has more receiving yards (36 catches for 520 yards) than Cordarrelle Patterson (27 catches for 366 yards).

Texas A&M is first in the SEC with 542.9 yards of total offense per game (Tennessee is 3rd at 456 yards/game), second in the SEC in passing yards/game with 305.3 yards/game (Tennessee is 3rd with 297.3 yards/game), first in the SEC in total rushing yards with 1,901 yards (Tennessee is 10th with 1,270) and rushing yards/game with 237.6 (Tennessee is 9th with 158.8 yards/game).

And if you want to argue SOS, that's fine, our SOS isn't far behind Tennessee, definitely not far enough to make up 100 yards/game.

It doesn't matter anyway. Our offense is going to put up 400+ yards and 30+ points on you this weekend, and I think they're going to do it rather easily. Good luck, your stats aren't going to save you Saturday.

Honestly, I think this will be a tough match up for both teams. I'm looking forward to it.

Make no mistake - our fans may be confident, but our team is hungry and has learned that resting on laurels (la tech game) gets you nowhere. They take it a week at a time and will be prepared, even with the lessons State took from the bama blowout.

State is a fine team, but you are delusional if you think your D is on par with LSU or FL and that our offense is < rocky top.

Always liked starkvegas on rivalries. This guy sounds completely different here.

Let me help you out, chump. You got lambasted last week. It shouldn't piss your team off. It should serve as notice that it's them who aren't very good.

Our two losses are by a combined 8 points to 2 top 10 teams.

We're plenty good to come in and whip your asses. The real Vegas says we win in your house.

As for you, ring your little cowbell, shake your little Pom Pons, make a few original burns at us for not having cheerleaders and come up with something to do in the third quarter. You'll be leaving faster than sip fans at the state fair. With all that free time, I recommend rolling around in barbed wire with Magic Johnson. That'll cure what ails you.

Love, peace and chicken grease.
