I would be shocked if Schloss left like others have said, the program has real momentum with the fanbase like it hasn't had in years, the $80M stadium reno is happening, plus his personal reasons for staying (not moving 2 times in 4 years, horse ranch, starting over again).
That said, I can definitely see Texas and CDC specifically tossing out a record breaking contract to someone just to make a splash entering the SEC. They will do everything in their power to build some type of hype for next year, even if it's unfounded. That's why I think the Oregon coach may have played his way out of being an option for them. Even though he'd be a great hire, the only thing people would talk about would be the 7th inning in the SR against us and CDC's ego wouldn't be able to stomach that.
Regardless, Schloss will get a much deserved raise after this season and the Texas opening will probably get him some extra cash per year from us.
