I moved that direction for 14 years so I get it. There's still things about the area that I miss.

I don't think the sips have the money to reach his number.

Schloss isn't a dumb man, whether he would accept an offer from the sips or not, I'm sure one was made and he at least used it as leverage for more money and to press for the acceleration of the facilities upgrade.

I honestly don't think there was a concern about or an ability to accelerate the facilities upgrades. It takes a lot of time to put stuff like this together. TMF was planning the centennial campaign for 5 years before demo on the indoor facilities even started.

I'd guess changing AD may have slowed things down a bit while the new AD got the lay of the land. But the success of this year made it easier to push the budget up. BOR originally approved 60 mil and now approved 80 mil. But at this point, I think the rate limiting step will be fundraising.

I would be shocked if Schloss left like others have said, the program has real momentum with the fanbase like it hasn't had in years, the $80M stadium reno is happening, plus his personal reasons for staying (not moving 2 times in 4 years, horse ranch, starting over again).

That said, I can definitely see Texas and CDC specifically tossing out a record breaking contract to someone just to make a splash entering the SEC. They will do everything in their power to build some type of hype for next year, even if it's unfounded. That's why I think the Oregon coach may have played his way out of being an option for them. Even though he'd be a great hire, the only thing people would talk about would be the 7th inning in the SR against us and CDC's ego wouldn't be able to stomach that.

Regardless, Schloss will get a much deserved raise after this season and the Texas opening will probably get him some extra cash per year from us.

They are claiming that the replacement coach's season hasn't ended yet so they are waiting for that to make the announcement. If true, that certainly narrows the list...

We should do everything we can to make keep our school/brand in the forefront. For instance, the presser about to take place in Omaha ... we need to take advantage of this news to keep our program in the spotlight.

They didn't just work together at TCU, they are friends, their families vacation together and have for many years. He doesn't have to "take a call" when you are both already sitting together on a beach somewhere with a cold drink.

did you read my response? i clearly stated i do not know the kentucky baseball coaches story. but it's clear u believe there is no way he could be plucked from kentucky. that may be true but if i were texas which i am not, but if i were he would be on my short lists of coaches to look at. but i hate texas so i hope they pick a crappy coach.

He said the same thing everybody is saying, primary target is Schloss then Johnson, didn't have insight beyond that.
He thinks it will be Schloss (prolly cause he wants it to be Schloss) but I don't think that's going to happen.
