No coach from A&M or tu, who's the head coach of a high profile sport, will ever leave one school to go to the other.

You will not be able to love your private life without half the people you run into throwing scorn on you. It's just not worth it. The benefits you'd receive would be negligible in comparison to the negative stigma that'd be attached to you for the rest of your life.

I agree that does sound like them, but I have a hard time believing something like this could be kept quiet. Another coach, staff, player, etc would see this and Kendall / et al would be reporting it immediately.

If Pierce is in fact out, then Del Conte would be negligent in his duties if he didn't reach out to the agents of Schloss, Johnson, Vitello, etc. Then he offers the Oregon guy.

As to the argument about money whipping someone, we can match any deal. Since we are already guaranteeing the expansion and improvements at Olsen, I believe that Schloss has been told: tell us what you want, and we will do it. All that's left is to come up with the designs.

All of my comments are based upon hearsay and intuition. Like everyone else, I want the new Olsen to be a premier park for decades to come. We'll see what happens.

He has strongly opined on the renovations multiple times and while he seemed disappointed with the space constraints, he appears legitimately excited about the concepts presented to solve that issue.

And while it is interesting to send out a survey about what fans/donors want before giving them detailed renderings, it does ring as somewhat hollow to say to fans/donors "this is what we are building, by the way, what would you like".

Also, where exactly are they going to build a replacement for DF? Maybe in all the extra space they will have if/when I35 gets buried? Maybe they will spend half the budget acquiring real estate in downtown Austin? Or maybe they can see if they can get the city to go halfsies on a ball park off campus, that went over so well when they floated that idea for a new basketball arena.

BTW, most of the "additional money" they get from SEC will end up going to the players.

Schloss ain't leaving. If this was the Texas job of pre-2019 when NIL wasn't a thing then maybe yeah. But we are getting an insane stadium renovation, have a lot of NIL (have been owning Texas on the field and in recruiting)…. he's not leaving

They are claiming that the replacement coach's season hasn't ended yet so they are waiting for that to make the announcement. If true, that certainly narrows the list...
