No significance, but I doubt a deal will be done early next week if they are waiting on schloss or Vitello. If it is one of the two it will be a few days. Schloss wouldn't do that to his guys right after playing for a natty… although I could see Tony V leaving straight for Austin.
If Schloss wants to leave, let him. Elevate Nolan Cain to head coach, give him Schloss's compensation plan, triple the pay of Earley, Weiner, and Kesel, and move on down the road. We will kick ass.

I'm sure Chris Del Conte's first choice is Schloss. But I don't think he will take the job there. I sure hope not, because I think he might very well be the best in the country.

Whats really silly is if the t.u. job had come available before ours.... Schloss may have been there. He spoke candidly why he pursued the A&M job in his inrerview today. Tulane and TCU. He wanted to bring a large state school through his system. It was a personal challenge..

Point is that the portal seems to be moving faster than in years past, and Tennessee has a lot of production to replace with fewer options than in previous years particularly with position players. They have a great recruiting class coming in so maybe they'll rely less on the portal than they have recently.

I remember ketch reporting that Sumlin was about yo be gone every year. started wjth about to go to NFL and later was about to get fired. anything they can possibly do to slow our momentum.
