Good morning baseball friends! I hope we are all surviving this morning?

I hope you all fared well through the storms. Y'all have been in our thoughts and prayers. We have kids in CS and Galveston so we are in touch with some of what is going on in the communities. Sending our best.

SH 219 was canceled in 1940 and changed to... get this... Sam Houston Grave SS 94. Check out the description; it's pretty cool. In 2006, it was removed from the state highway system entirely and returned to the city of Huntsville.

I went to several family reunions at the Wheelock Schoolhouse as a kid, Lot of good memories associated with that schoolhouse. Had a lot of fun with cousins that I didn't see very often. I think I got in trouble every reunion we had there for trying to sneek up the stairs. There was no AC and in July it was often hotter inside the schoolhouse than it was outside

Thanks. My parents are in SA, so I would probably just go there for a visit if I'm going to go anywhere.

My parents lived in Old Tasslefoot Village for 50+ years. Dad would visit the Big Tree daily to feed the squirrels. I've got a ton of great memories of that area.

After dad passed in late 2022, I rented a VRBO in The Reserve so that my family could all stay under one roof rather than they be scattered in multiple hotels. The house was beautiful with a great view of St. Charles Bay.

If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, the Goose Island State Park area can't be beat.

My mom and dad, known better to all of you as Mark Fairchild on this board, have been in Rockport for some time now. I need to go and visit ASAP, but hurricanes and Summer 1302 teaching got in the way as of late. But when I do I fully intend on going to the spot you recommended.

The classic Queen Anne style home, which features a domed tower and wraparound veranda, remained in the Jenkins family until the property was sold in 1971.

I could sit on one of the piers extending into St. Charles Bay for hours & hours. Let that sea breeze out of the SE keep you cool together with a cold drink.

It's almost as fun as Aggie baseball.
